Me and Arin (future9ER24) recently had a discussion and we both think we're right on which motor is more potent in NA form, I was wondering what all you guys think?

If Doug was talking stock then yes, there isnt much to discuss. I was under the assumption that he meant with NA mods like heads, intake, cam, etc. Then there might be a little more discussion.

The cobra engines are almost streached to the limit of the hp chain, but the 5.0's are not. With mods, the 5.0 could easily top a stock cobra, but both modded it'd be pretty close... the 5.0s have A LLLLLOOOOOTTTTTT of improvement room, also a lot of mods offered...

bone stock, the DOHC Cobra motor is superior... modified i would call it a tie. Modifications are expensive to for the 4.6 while the 5.0 can be modded up for substantially less.

I was speaking in terms of a modified NA version. I believe that the 5.0 would be far superior and is far cheaper, however, Arin believes the 4.6 is a much better motor with newer technology which i believe it does have newer technology just it was relatively weak and didnt make good torque below 4000 rpm.
everyone's input is greatly appreciated

Maybe the 4.6 32v doesn't have so much low end grunt but once it gets up there it doesn't stop
The 5.0s have trouble making hp above 5500...while the 4.6 will go clean up near 8000.
