heh heh...done for now I guess...

Here's a list of my mods...

Python Car Alarm
Valentine 1 Radar Detector
K&N CAI
SCT XCAL2
Jet-Flo Throttle Body Spacer
FRPP 4.10 Differential Gears
Saleen Series VI Twin Screw Supercharger
39 lb Cobra Fuel Injectors
90 mm Lightning MAF
8 lb JDM Pulley + Belt (for sc)
Custom Dyno Tune
FRPP Axleback Exhaust
Saleen Short Throw Shifter
MB Motorsport VR5S 18x8 (front), 18x9 (rear)
BFGoodrich gForce KDW NT 255/45/80 (front), 285/40/18 (rear)

So I guess that's it. Not to shabby. Most of them are performance mods. Over half of them aren't installed yet, but I'm looking to have them all installed by the end of January or early February. I'm hoping for 425 rwhp (500 hp) when they are all installed.

So...do you think I can beat a C5 Z06? How about a C6 non Z06? What cars do you think I can beat and what do you think will still spank me? Sorry if you think this question is pretentious, I know I could just go out there and find out...but i don't like to pick fights that I know I can't win...

well the z06, I dont even think with the supercharger your going to whip that, but maybe just depend on the driver. Doesnt the z06 do like 0-60 in 3.5 seconds or something and top speed of 200 mph or something. I saw them talking about it on the live feed from the la auto show. Seems as though jay leno as a spokesperson for gm at the show worked out a deal to drive the z06 pace car for the daytona 500. As stated it will have more power than the actual cars racing. At least since they have the restrictor plates etc. It was funny watching jay, but I remember just a year ago, when he was one of the first mustang owners, before they were out. He is just a car enthusiast all around. Either way, your going to have a nice ride when all said and done. That you have put together, not the manufacturer. Good luck but keep it on the track, and find out what it can do.

500 rwhp on this mustang unfortunately will not be able to touch the z06. trust me i give u tons and tons of credit for all the mods ur doing but the power to weight ratio for the z06 is unbelievable. ive seen a video of one and let me tell u they r the real deal. now a shelby cobra nicely modded will take it but im really telling u man if u get the chance to go for it then do it, maybe a ford gt (which i got spanked by) but the z05 is INSANELY light and fast with its 0-60 time in 4.3 seconds......i saw something about it on TV also and wow...

as for the regular c6, ur gonna rip into it.

cars u will beat:
any SRT vehicle
older model z06's
any regular corvette
older model mustang cobra's
older vipers
any camaro, trans-am, ws-6
any japanese car
m3
maybe maybe an m5
this is all pending ur car is 500hp

cars that will beat u
obviously exotics
new z06
new viper
this catagory is self explainitory haha

Cake walk? Wow, you underestimate the C5 Z06. It will be a drivers race. If the Z06 is modded at all he'll blow you away.

C5 Z06's are consistent low 12 cars. I've seen a C5 Z06 with intake, headers and full exhaust absolutely destroying ferrari's, lambos, and the like.

um... your Mustang should be able to overtake a c5 z06. With about 400rwhp you should be able to run a sub 12 second run without too much effort. The high end c5 should be looking at your tail if you are running this within a 1320.

My guess would be that it would be a good race with a experienced Z06 driver. You should win, but it won't be a blow out. They run low to mid 12s bone stock. Up top, I think the Vette has the advantage.

Hey you guy's.

Come on. Yes this car is modded nicely and will win many races. However, a race with a regular c6 (not z06) will be up to the driver. Even though the c6 has only 400hp it's pulling 0-60 in 4.1 and a quarter mile 12.5. I would assume that's about the same time you see a quater. I'm not sure about the 4.1 though. Nice mods.

I don't think 0-60 in 4.1 sec is unrealistic for a blown '05 Mustang. Based on a G-Timer track test, as well as this calculator, my car currently will run 0-60 in less than 4.5sec... without a blower.

I'd guess with the 8# pulley and the tune, the Mustang would take the C5 Z06, but the C6 Z06 is producing about 530 Hp at the crank and would probably be a horror story. The Vette's are so light and aerodynamic, they are tough competition.

Don't you just love bench racing?

Well, it won't be bench racing for long. My best friend owns a C5 Z06 (hence my rivalry for them)... I just wanted to ask here first before I start trash talking him and get in over my head...

Nothing has been mentioned about the type of race. Are you talking stoplight? If so, you will win against the C5 Z06 as long as you can maintain traction.

If you are talking an autocross or something with lotsa curves, ur screwed.

NO WAY, HE'LL TOAST YOU. You should be ashamed for even thinking about it. To acheive absolution you must mail all of your parts to me immediately!!!!

Actually I'm pretty much in agreement with everyone else. you will get a c5 z06 as well as a c6 (non z06) in a straight line. In the twisties.....not so much. Race them straight.

Hey Matt! Yeah, hoping for the end of Jan or early Feb. Btw, I played poker with one of your coworkers Sunday night. Guy named Mike.

I'm stoked now. Thanks for all the input and insight, guys. The next step is convincing my buddy to race me...any tracks near Dallas/Ft. Worth?

Ennis is south of DFW...so its closer to you.

as for the original topic....i beat a couple of C5 Z06s in my old car with 425 rwhp...one was a raping, the other close....so, as it was mentioned before it will be a matter of whos the better driver and has the most traction.

I remember talking to you about the K&N, and now you're doing a supercharger and everything else. Amazing! I'm really going to have to see your car. Where did you end up going for your SCT tune?

Yeah man, I'd love to show it off after it's all done. I meet for lunch with about 3-4 other 05 owners every Thurs. You should come sometime.

Heh, yeah...I ended up selling my old car then using that money to buy the Saleen unit. I had about +1k left over from the difference of those two transactions. I decided to just go ***** out and put in $2k of my own saved money and just get everything over with.

05GTRoadkill is installing his Saleen blower with the help of Madhouse (maybe?). I'm going to tag along and do my install with them. I'm also going to use their tuner, Andre Terranova of Houston.
