I just got killed ....
Now I have never raced anyone on the streets before, but I had to try it ones. So I picked what I thought would be an easy kill. Saw a Nissan 240 up ahead on the road so I went in for the kill. Well we were going about 65 (weird road in (un-named city) that leads right into the (unnamed highway)) ...... started racing at 70 mph pulled ahead real quick .... but then he started catch up. Around 110 mph hes right next to me smiling .... saying goodbye and then just takes off. (I bet it looked as if I had slammed on my brakes) I've never seen a car accelerate like that at that speed. I could smell the nos though ....so my question is does that count as a win for him or an unfair race?????
a win is a win no matter how its won unless he cheated. which he did not. it doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winings Wining!
Beaten by rice, that sucks dude. Was Uncle Ben driving?
Those things come stock w/ an inline 4 banger equipped with 155 hp, so this guy has to have aftermarket galore underneath his hoop plus a healty shot of NOS to even keep up with a stock GT.
Still, gotta give credit where credit is do

Ouch! I've only had one proper race so far.
01 Camaro SS vs. 05 Mustang GT with CAI/Predator 93 tune and magnaflow exhaust. We took it to the top speed and it was basically a tie...I had maybe half a car lengh on him but we were so even for so long..i have to give credit.

What is this "nos" that you guys speak of?
By "nos" do you mean NITROUS OXIDE?
Oh btw, nitrous has no smell...

you guys are right though .... a win is a win :bang:
I wasn't trying to make an excuse though .... just kind of pissed I lost to a nissan.
thestoogeo i think your right i need a supercharger now. these 20" wheels are making me slow (i guess that ends that debate)

Physical properties: colorless, slightly sweet odor. very soluble in oils, ether, alcohols.

Nitrous oxide is a sweet-smelling gas made up of nitrogen and oxygen.

Google "nitrous sweet".
Not trying to be an hiney, but I just read a crap load about nitrous yesterday and that is one of the things I remember.

I guess I was right. I knew I smelt something ......
Ok, I'm going to semi hijack this thread and ask a question I've had for a while and never had fully answered...
I thought we have to have separate tunes for when using nitrous. How was that guy running his car normally, then turning on the nitrous without loading a different tune?
I mean, the A/F ratio and ignition timing isn't the same when you're on the bottle, right? So how can you turn the bottle on and instantaneously change your A/F and timing?
P.S. It's pronouced 'naawwwwzzz'...

SR20DET 240's are no joke. My buddy's getting the swap done in Dec. The 240sx in Japan is the equivalent of the mustang, fairly cheap and fast, tons of mods for them. The KA24DE's that they have in America are really crappy, the actual engine they use in Japan is the SR20DET which is an awesome motor.
Just because it's imported DOES NOT MAKE IT RICE.
Oh and show some respect because you obviously got owned by a sleeper. Gratz to the 240 driver.

I had the same problem until recently. Now it's time for some 4.10's

I was under the impression that nitrous has a sweet taste, not a sweet smell...
oh well...
