I am trying to decide between a 11 5.0 and a 03 Cobra
Justin, what knd of history do you have with Mustangs? Reason I ask is most guys that have never owned a Fox or SN95 and only have driven a S197 don't seem to like the older feel of the 03 cobra due to its 25 year old chassis base.
While the '03 Cobra was a good car for its day, and arguably the best SN97 platform Stang, the '11 5.0 is a far better overall car.
You start factoring in price, exclusivity, modding, emotion you get out of each. Thats the hard part.
I have always loved the exhaust note of the sn95 mustangs and was dissappointed that ford had changed this on the S197 cars. I know it was for safty reasons but that still stinks.
I agreement with Knight if you take all this out the equation the the 5.0 comes out on top. But it is not that simple. I fiqure financially I iwll be more comfortable with the cobra. The 11 v6 is out of the question for the record. I gotta have that V8 rumble.
Those older Cobras, especially if in good, unmolested condition, may also have a bit of a collectors appeal due to their exclusivity.
The Cobra is cheaper to get thats for sure, you can get a nice one for cheaper then a base V6 2011. Gotta warn you though, the stock Cobra has almost no V8 rumble, but you do get a fantastic blower sound. Aftermarket cat-back can fix the rumble part though.
But like others have said and something I've learned from retail, if you cant make the emotional connection, it doesn't matter how good the product actually is, it will always be a disappointment.
I don't plan on keeping the Cobra stock if I get it. So that is no problem.
When I bought my Cobra a coupel weeks ago I used my credit union to get a loan. They would only do 60 months on a 2003, I beleive a 2004 they would do 72 months. Check with your lender, it might be worth looking for a 2004 if you are wanting to get a longer term. Anyway, not sure what your looking to do, I'm just saying.
Good, cars broken in hard run hard!
Actually we were very fimilar with this guy, he ordered it from our store and did all service and oil changes with us. This is a well documented car.
I may not make a lot of money at this job but a car like this to get at wholesale price... priceless.

One $800 Borla catback solves that minor inconvenience.
This is a tough one. I've always liked the Terminator due to it's all mighty Supercharged 4.6L 4valve, but having a new car is nice. More advanced technology and refinement, and it rumbles nicely too. But that blower whine...
