If you are referring to the non-Cobra year of 2002, mech problems were not the reason one was not produced. Had to do with John Coletti not being satisfied with the prototype that SVT had come up with for that year. Decided to wait and develop the 2003 Cobra the right way.

IIRC, is that the 03 could have come out as a late late 2002, but they landed up just running it as an 03 longer...
2000 DID have a cobra though

Yeah it's a cool book. Good insight into the development of vehicles. Thing that I remember most is the Manley connecting rods costing $56 bucks each while the stock 2001 Cobra rods cost $6. You really do get what you pay for.

Revising this post from the dead. Just strickly on performance what would be better? I like the idea of the Cobra having forged internals. Mod for Mod I take it the terminator wins?
