I think this body style feeds too much off of the fastback look for it to look right as a convertible. It looks great with the top down but with the top up I think it ruins the look of the '05

What he said!

The vert does not do anything for me.

Well, I like them both. However, I ordered the GT convertible. I think the fastback looks meaner, but verts are more fun. Beside, this GT is just going to be a toy, not a daily driver.

This will make 3 verts for my wife and myself. We also have a Miata and a 67 GTO vert.

I've had 3 verts,89,92,01. I bought a hardtop 05. For every day driving and year round driving a vert stinks. I still have the 01 vert . the wife wants to keep it, I don't. I like my 05 fastback more. They are two totally different driving experiences. If you need to drive it every day get the coupe!!

Vert is the only way to go for me that why I order an 05 GT Vert. I know this is off topic but what Wheels are on that Black Vert?

Hard top here - vert is neat but like already said, loses the whole fastback thing that really makes this car....

(and the wheels on that vert at the start of the thread.... uggghh.... :notnice: )

Personally I'm not a fan of the Vert Mustang. I saw one driving around a few weekends ago with the top down and it just didn't do it for me. Certainly no slight to the folks that like and have ordered them... It's still a Mustang and for that a head above the rest. Just not my first choice.

That and keeping up a Vert in the northwest is a pain due to thoroughly damp fall and winter months (mine's a daily driver and I didn't want to have the upkeep the Vert top requires).

Personally I like coupes better. They are lighter, less expensive, and don't flex as much as the verts. Hopefully the 05 is better, but in the fox body days the GT verts without subframe connectors would turn into pretzels over the years.

The vert looks incredible, but I prefer the hardtop.

Just wondering how many prefer the look of the hardtop over the vert or vice versa. I generally like the hardtops for looks but the more Mustang verts I see I am beginning to like the verts better.
I had ONE vert and that was enough for me. They're great on sunny days with the top down and wind blowing your hair, but I don't care for the extra road noise through the top. The one I had ('66 Galaxie 500) also leaked in heavy rains. I like the lines of the hardtops better too.

I've never been a vert lover. I do like the new 05 but I am glad I stuck with the coupe.

Picked up my GT Vert last week. Been driving ever since. The last Vert I drove was over 20 years ago. I am amazed how quiet the 05 is at interstate speeds. When compared to other Verts the roofline is really quite different (has a chopped look). Also like the clean look when the top is down (no boot required). If I were to do it all over, it would be a Vert hands down!!

I like the look of the 'Vert' with the top down, but that's as far as it goes for me. I think the coupe is good looking all the time.......and I don't like dealing with the cowl shake that is common with alot of convertibles. Coupe owner here....and no regrets. (living in the pacific northwest has something to do with this also )

I like hard top less moving parts less to vandle and warmer in cold climates.

I personally like the hardtop better than the vert. The fastback is just too sexy. Don't get me wrong, the vert looks nice with the top down, but once that top goes up I just don't like it. And living here in the midwest, you'll have that top up 9 months out of the year. Hardtop for me, but that's just my opinion.

I picked the coupe for the same reason so many others did, the overall body style. Love that mix of coupe / fastback. In saying that an 05 doesn't pass me bye without getting a second glance, they are all very tuff and make for nice eye candy.

Personally, I picked the Coupe. To me, and no offense to the Vert lovers out there, I think the Vert looks too much like a Coupe with the top cut off. It doesn't look quite as clean and stylish as the Coupe does.

But to each his own...
