OK, this Forum went WAY
!!! Let's face it, if we are comparing these cars, it should be about unmolested STYLE and PERFORMANCE. Not, "well I could get this much power if I did this, and then it would beat that"... B/S. Honestly, lets get a grip here. I don't even think you should compare these 2 in the first place. 1 is bred to race, the other is a supercharged version of the 4.6 with all the niceties. Sounds a little like apples to oranges to me.
My opinion?...the R...hands down, for the already mentioned rarity, not to mention style (I LOVE the way the whole package just looks like it belongs), uniqueness, ala side exit, lack of seat, rear diff cooling, deleted options, and gotta have looks. Plus...any of you ever heard one run?...*shivers* GORGEOUS. And a real life look under the hood...pictures dont do it justice, the motor is HUGE.

oh, I disagree...saw #112 owned by a man in a small town about 1 hr south of Witchita Falls, TX. Much more impressive in person. You know...come to think of it...he had a brand new black 03 Cobra when I was there. Drove the Cobra, showed the R. He thought the R was faster, also was the one that informed me that other R owners that had dyno'd theirs found sometimes a good bit more than 385...
the R was rated at 385, which was an estimation not even a real calculation from what i understand. being the the terminator has the blower, it has a bit more low end torque. I'd love to see a race, but the r would prolly win due to traction.

And for the record i'll take the Cobra R. There's something to be said of 1.01g's of grip. :drive:
I would take the Cobra R anyday over the 03 04 cars.
Motortrend dynod a 2000 R at 376hp to the wheels.... 9hp drivetrain loss? underrated for sure.... But i still can't figure out why the best times pulled off of the Cobra R were 12.8's when the 03-04 cobras are pulling mid 12's
I Would take R add sean hyland 6L block and then turbo it...6L turbo cobra R...yummy
