2000 Cobra R vs. 2004 Cobra
if the upgraded KB 04 snake has so much power, why not put it onto the R
and about the lack of kits for the R, well, if you can afford an R, you can afford a custom blower setup.
me? R hands down. more cubes, more potential, looks waaay better, and on top of all that, its ultra rare!
BTW, does the R have IRS. personally i dont care, but im just wondering.

Now I am not a rocket scientist, and I don't play one on tv, but if the cars have the same basic engine design, (modular V8 with same overhead design) doesn't it make sense that the car with the bigger displacement make more potential power?

not if one motor has a stronger bottom end or is designed better than the other.

Yeah, that's the exact same thing you said the first time. Where are you getting those numbers. Those numbers don't make sense.

That's what I was thinking.
'04 Cobra - s/c 4.6L - 390 hp
'00 Cobra R - n/a 5.4L - 385 hp
Take the blower off the Cobra and its making quite a bit less than the Cobra R, so I am not understanding why if you put a supercharger on both, how the Cobra would pass the Cobra R.

the cobra has more potenetial and has a stronger bottom end. The cobra also had free flowing heads and blower cams. and the eaton on the 03-04 is restrictive and the kenne bell while both at 13psi makes something like 35rwhp because its more efficient

kenne bell cobra dynos, look em up, and i am a good predicter, i take the gains from say a GT with a kenne bell, like if it added 200rwhp, i figure it for the motor i am guesstimating it on and go from their

Did a quick search on the Kenne Bell in the '03 Cobra and found a article on 5.0 Mustangs and from the dyno numbers the Kenne Bell only added about 100 rwhp over stock.
Edit: Here is the dyno numbers from the article.

No it shouldn't have air conditioning, it's a race car. How many race cars do you know of that have air conditioning? What do you think the R stands for? Really, I doubt anyone is using a Cobra R as a daily driver, if you were lucky enough(and wealthy enough) to get one of these rare vehicles, it is probably sitting in the garage between trips to the track.
