Meh... The one that really got me was the old civic beating a C5
Looking at another video... who the heck is going to be deliberately killing the engine on their car, especially a second gen RX-7
I really like those cars!

Guys, face it, the Cobra got smoked. It is hilarious that everyone has all these excuses for a Mustang loosing. Can't you just appreciate a fast car?
And before you start trying to blame it all on money, about $4-6k can get you about 500hp on an Evo which should get around 3.1 0-60 and 11.4 1/4 mile times (Vishnu is one place). The Cobra guy would spend about that on a Kenny Belle to get 500 whp (unless it is just a pulley change).
Add a higher initial pricetag for the SVT and either way, the Evo is cheaper than the Cobra.
And, before you start flaming me for appreciating a foreign car, I am not saying it's better, just quicker (especially off the line). It is still an ugly econobox that needs at least 4500 rpm to get moving. But man, the AWD sure does make a difference.

That 13b was on it's last legs and they were dropping in a new one right after, might as well have some fun first. THe Apex seal was blown and the number 2 rotary had 0 compression.

The Cobra did get smoked. At the end of the video there's text that says "Winner by way of launch". Which is absolutely right, Cobra had a bad launch, lost, and gave up because of it.
A 500HP Evo is nothing to sneeze at.

Not sure if it is my net here at work, since it is extremely moody, or the site. The downloads are taking forever on a T1 connection. Why sites want to play the video through their server is stupid and requires to much bandwith they dont have. Why stupidity is so easy to find. So most of it.
Anyways, sucks for the Cobra. I have a Mustang GT and Evos and stuff is one care I tend to stay away from.
If anyone has a "direct" to this file i would like to watch it again, none choppy.

two threads regarding this have been merged.
Nobody's brought up reliability yet. I realize that in most 500hp cars it's not the most important thing, but still that Cobra is gonna be running long after that 2.0L Evo has blown to kingdom come. 250hp/L ain't exactly easy for any engine to handle.
I agree with Scott. The Cobra has much more leeway (sp?) for adding power, imo. I'm no auto tech, but it seems like there is a lot more strain on a 500 hp four banger engine than there is on a 500 hp V8.
