My mustang showed up with the WRONG entertainment system than what I ordered (I triple checked, the order sheet clearly says SHAKER 1000, but the car has the 500 in it)

My question(s) is(are) this... what does it take to fix this problem, who can do it, and how long will it take? Also, how could this have happened?

Thanks!

If that is the case, this is known as a misbuilt unit. The dealer can make a claim back to Ford to do the switchover. It may not be cheap but on a misbuilt unit Ford bears the brunt and will take care of it.

What they need is a copy of the DORA showing the shaker 1000, the factory invoice showing the shaker 1000, then they call the warranty hotline to see how to handle it.

I hope you caught it at delivery and had the dealer write it up. If you have had the car for any length of time, Ford will pretty much wash their hands and say it should have been claimed sooner. I don't get that much involved in misbuilts, we have a warranty claim person who is the whiz at that stuff.

thanks for responding... i decided to go ahead and accept the car with the shaker 500... they (overseas military sales) offered me an additional $750 for my troubles... so I figure with $1877 I could get a sound system way better than the shaker 1000. Overall, i'm fine with that. thanks,

You wasted your money anyway when you ordered the 1000. I'm glad you got your money back! The only difference is that it says Shaker 1000 on the deck and it has a sub box in the trunk. That is not worth $1295 retail they are charging!!!!
