Thumbs up

Hello everyone,

I am looking to get into a Mustang GT soon, and had some questions:

Is there a cutoff month / date for ordering an '06?

Am I already past the point to expect an '06 to be built with the options I want?

What month in '06 would the order banks open for 2007 model year?

Is there a ballpark / average time from order to delivery I can count on?

I am just looking for a ballpark estimate on this stuff. The reason I ask is that whatever I order will go directly to a performance shop to get modded out, so I am trying to decide when it makes sense to order to have the vehicle in my possesion by LATE SPRING-EARLY SUMMER 2006.

Any info or advice would sure be appreciated, thanks.

As of right now we have no idea on the 07 order bank opening or when the 06 order bank will be closing but historically the close is sometime around May to June so if you find a dealer with allocation [which there are many including ourselves], getting a GT built should be no problem. I am on our next allocation timeframe which is production in Oct and Nov and i will have 3-4 GT's available. The only caveat is commodity controls on available options.

Hope this helps.

Hey,
any news around the cutoff of the 2006 orders? When are the dealers going to start taking the orders for the 2007 model year?

Looking to get me a GT convertible some time in September, I have no idea on when to order the car...

06 order cut-off is 4/7 with the last day of production of 6/2.
07 production begins 6/5 but normally the first several weeks of a model years production are very light, then the plants close for summer vacation over the 4th of July and production picks up in earnest after that.

Thanks guys. I ordered My '06 Gt on October 4th, and upon my most recent inquiry to the dealer (last week), I was told to expect delivery sometime towards the end of February, or early March.

That's like 5 months... did you want it that way, or is that as fast as you could get it?

I was told I would have to wait a bit more because of the particular color and options (Tungsten with IUP, etc.) Mostly though, I told them it was no big hurry because I live in Cleveland, and winter lasts until April or May. I am having DCF modify the car before I even take delivery, and there will be lots of good stuff (including an intercooled ATI Procharger setup). I figured is was not wise to take her on her maiden voyage with 550HP under the hood in a set of snow tires.

I'm cool for now, but when the weather starts warming up, and I am getting excuses from the dealer I wont be too happy.
