Lap Time Thread
#101
Grip was really good. Not sure how much was the new tires or the new pavement. I never found the limit due to the heavy rain half of each day. The car felt really good, but I was driving a bit conservatively due to the changes and me not getting on track in a year. The laps toward the end of that session were pretty good. I was ramping up speed after the near miss and got faster as the session went on. We ended up getting a black flag due to a tire issue on another car ending the session early just as I was finding a good rhythm. I will post better laps after I get a chance to finish looking through files.

It is surprising how well my 4 cylinder fusion takes the corners. I just keep slamming my left foot to the floor looking for the missing clutch after driving my Mustang.

I just switched from Cup2s to my winter tires. They were comical in cool and wet conditions. Sideways at 30% throttle.

Yes, it is still going to be warm enough to run the Toyo's and so far it looks like it will be dry. We have had some cold nights, so I have them in the house, but they will be back on for the track.

NCM was fun. The track is pretty technical with around 24 turns in 3.1 miles. There are blind hills and corners, sometimes one leading into the other. I took it easy as I learned the layout and give more than my share of point bys. I started to figure out the track late Saturday and started adding speed. I was running pretty good on Sunday and give a lot fewer point bye. This may have been due to less cars as they day went on, but when someone passed I was able to stay with them much longer and actually received a couple of point bye myself. I will post some video once I get it uploaded, if there is anyone left on this page to view it.

Here is a couple of laps from NCM. These are from the 2nd day after I had some time to learn the track. These weren't my best laps, just some I wanted to share with the driver that spun in front of me about half way through.
