Hey everybody.

I have a question.

I was wondering what you all use to clean your glass (not the product, to actually apply and wipe it off). Traditionally I have used paper towels, but I keep hearing about Newspaper. Is this true? Is it really that much better than a paper towel? Wouldn't it leave newsprint?

You get the picture, I want to learn how to use newspaper (if I have been hearing this info correctly) or another method.

Newspaper is better than paper towels, as it is lint free and doesn't leave streaks. Just tear up a newspaper into sheets, and use it like you would a towel (spray whatever cleaner on first, then wipe off).

I didn't like always having to wash my hands after doing that...your hands will turn black from the ink on the newspaper...so I went on the hunt to find something else.

So far, I've found a good microfiber cloth to work wonders. Got mine from Proper Auto Care (www.properautocare.com).

Newspaper and your basic glass cleaner works great! Just crumple up a single page and wipe down. When you run out, grab another sheet. The price is right too.

a little vinegar mixed with water works great! coke or pepsi really cleans the outside nicely, but you have to wash the car after. Windex works good also. I find that ordinary glass cleaner leaves a film.

The 1 thing that I will never do is clean my glass at a service station,with one of those squeegee's;
for some reason it leaves an oily film on your window, that is killer to get off!

just my 02 worth!

Oddly enough, the ink doesn't get on the glass. I never had that happen to me when I used newspaper. It just got all over my hands, and that was bad enough.

Merlot: Have you tried Stoner's Invisible Glass?

We actually have a thread on that here, it should be a few topics down. I hear it is great stuff but it makes your car smell really badly...

$5.00? try walmart....it was $3.47 when i bought it a few weeks ago. works like a champ...crystal clear glass. (and safe for tint according to the label) also, the free newspaper that is ocassionally left on my driveway really works great, much better than towels that leave little fibers of lint everwhere.
