I went over to my sister and brother-in-law's house this afternoon, and although it took longer than we expected, we finished the rim repair and if I do say so myself, it looks really good. Yes if you look close you can see where the damage was. But from 4 feet away you cannot see a thing; a casual, uninformed observer will not be able to tell there was a problem.

Many thanks to my brother in law for working his magic today on my behalf. He had me do the "heavy lifting", but when I couldn't get out the pit marks, he amazingly got every spot smooth and shiny.

It wasn't so much the money, but the sense of accomplishment at restoring the rim since I was the one who inflicted the damage (with some help from the guy in the white van who pulled out on me).

VERY happy that it is behind me and the wheel looks good again. Thanks for everyone's encouragement.

I scraped my front right rim on a curb within a month of getting the car. Talk about pissed off...

You know, Craig, that would have been a great idea. But I have been so freaking busy lately (between work, caring for aging parents, an 18 year old son, AAA baseball games, and Mustanging), I simply did not have time to take a pic in the daylight, and a night photo would not have shown up well with the flash off the Bullitt wheels.

I wish I had; but I'm glad that horrid sight is already a fading memory.

I'll try to take pics next time there is an issue (God forbid). If there is a next time.

I fixed a nice scrape in my upgrade rims with my dremel. Smoothed it right down and you couldn't tell from farther than 3'. The chip was about 4" long too and all in all, it turned out pretty good. But boy was I upset when it happened :bang:

I know how u feel, I felt like suicide after I hurt Sally.

Then I thought about the poor folks in New Orleans and realized its not that big a deal in the larger scope of things.

It's just so easy to scrape your rims, anyone can do it anytime.

I did it once too...in my 98 i had years ago- except mine was not a mistake in driving.... i was taking some movies back and had the movies sitting on top of the steering column so i wouldn't forget them- you know- right there in front of the speedo display- anyway- i turned a corner- turning right and the movie box got caught in the steering column- so it pretty much locked the car turning right- it was stuck and horrible- so i couldn't do anything but jump the curb, and when i did- i had seeeeeeeeeeriously gouged my rim- i was sooooo mad at myself- i went home and dremel'd it out and it looked okay- you could just tell where it happened- cuz there was a dip in the edge of the rim.... oh well- needless to say- i never put the movies on my steering column again... :nono:
