Hi all,

24 hours had passed since I picked up my baby (260km's on it!). I was up north parking my car. And bottomed out on rock! :bang: :bang: Lucky it only hit the side skirt :worship:

This scratch *can not* be seen from the side of the car. It's only on the bottom flat surface. Thank god!

The question I have is.. Should I touch it up, with touch-up paint.. ? It's about 6" (inches) long. Will the paint peel around this area, if it's not touched up ? The scratch is also right around one of the black plastic retainer pins.

I know it's the bottom of the car, but it's the "first scratch", I'm hurting...

She'll never be the same same again.

I feel your pain. I was under the car installing the steeda shifter bushings.

While there, I noticed I must have bottomed out somewhere. I too have a big chip from the paint on the under rail. It is not 6 feet long, but it is about 3 - 4 inches.

I was wondering the same about whether I should just touch it up or do something more involved. Espcially since I live up north with salty winters.

Yea it hurts seeing it, it felt MUCH worse then the damage that actually occurred. If yours is on a metal surface, I would touch it up! Mine is on plastic, that's why I'm trying to decide what to do.

Touch it up......and that also gives a reason to have touch up paint ordered (in case you don't already have it). Geeez......how did you manage to bottom out on a rock without seeing it first?

Yea I know, this was going down a hill, and just after the rock (it's up in the Canadian Shield... so it's actually the "ground") The driveway dipped down, since it was a hill, there was no way I could see it.

Never again will I drive down this hill!

I was going to guess you were playing bullitt on a dirt road,

but your story is more believable.

sorry to hear about your first scratch, but atleast nobody will see it.

In the Exterior Mod section somebody posted this site: http://www.expresspaint.com.

It looks like they have some good stuff for touch up. You should be able to find the paint code for your car when you open the door and then order an exact match.
