[Okay new here. The seats in back recline down? I’ve got a 2010 convertible do mine recline as well?
QUOTE=3point7;6955264]So last week I decided it was time to get a new television. I went down to Best Buy and put a new Sharp 50 inch big screen on my Best Buy card. For those that don't know, you can get a big ticket item like that with 18 months zero interest. Anyway, that was the easy part. The hard part came in when I told the guy I was in my Mustang. He got that look on his face like "You son of b***h!" lol

Well in case you're wondering, yes you can get a 50 inch TV into a Mustang to bring home from the local Best Buy and it took us about 10 minutes to figure out how so I'm going to save you guys the time and tell you how we did it.

First off the trunk opening is in fact wide enough to slide the box in but the angle is the problem. Once the box hits the hump for the rear axle at the forward part of the trunk it gets wedged at that's it.

So we leaned both front seats forward, lowered the back seat and were going to slide the TV across, rotate it and slide it into the trunk. The problem was with the seats down the TV box gets wedged and you can't rotate it.

Here is what you have to do. You need three guys.

With the back seats in the up position and the front seats leaned forward slide the TV across the car behind the front seats.

Then the two guys on either side of the car need to lift the lower part of the box up.

Third guy reaches in and pulls the straps to lower the back seats.

Box guys then lower the box back down and it will rest on top of the back seats instead of wedged between the back and front seats.

Rotate the box and slide it into the trunk.

Presto, you've just loaded a 50 inch big screen into a Mustang.

If you get a TV bigger than 50 inches I honestly don't think you'll have any luck. Anything bigger just isn't going to fit.[/QUOTE]

I know this is an old Thread but I put a 55 inch VIZIO tv in the trunk (hanging out and tied) while still in the box in my Mustang several years ago

My couch is still stuck in the stairway of build 2 of the same apartment complex so I know what you said.
I did bring a 50 inch TV home in the back seat of my pick up and a 54 inch in the bed do either of those count?

I searched up if it was doable before attempting it

So, I just attempted to fit a 50” TV today into my 2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost; I will say that this thread gave me the confidence to give it a try, and it was manageable with 2 ppl, also surprisingly enough it didn’t take more than a few minutes, which was nice. I was honestly really doubtful, but my fiancé reassured me it would work out lol. Ty for your help!!🤙🏼

That's cheating, no hump for the rear end in the trunk like the S197 in the S550

I think that is bigger than that George, might be the screens for the base model.
