Congrats, Leo!

You are right about the engine bay and the interior. That's where people focus most of their attention. The MGW interior accessories really help! That's another thing Bill and I talked about for days before you came to the forum... what would look good and what would be too much (like a cup bezel, an e-brake handle, AND a shifter bezel). People REALLY see my interior, that's why I wanted to eventually get the Ford speaker covers to give them something extra.

Great pics... I have always LOVED the cars painted with the American flag theme... not sure I would want to drive it, but it looks awesome!

I really can't say that I don't like this next pic... may have to look into that. Maybe paint it black so it doesn't pop out, but if you look close you'll see it?

I also want to get something like this done since my interior is so visable (you can even get the Tri-Bar, Leo).

Oh, and thanks for the CDC Lightbar pics... but I think I'll end up not getting one. It's the only mod that my wife REALLY hates. I usually throw stuff past her for her opinion (not that I always listen), but she's really adamant about this one.

The wider stripes really do look better. 12" all the way! What are these, 8"?

Make me really want the 14th to get here quick!

I'm not entering in the Sunset Ford show are you??
Don't get burned out too quick... you'll lose the "fun-ness" and it'll start to seem like a chore. When is the Sunset Ford show you speak of?

EDIT: Found it on Bill's Club's site. November 19th. Maybe do the 2nd one above and then the Sunset Show, they seem to be spread out pretty good.

The more I look at it, the more I like that "Mach 1" emblem in the shaker opening. I would definitely sand it down and paint it flat black to blend in with the scoop, so you'd have to look twice to see it.

That's everybody's assignment for the day... find that emblem!!

Leo, for your reading enjoyment:

The Mach 1 cars would say it too much if they added this (especially if it also says Mach 1 on the tube right under it). I would NOT get one if I had a 2003-04 Mach 1.

However, we DO have a "Mach 1 Shaker", and our cars don't even say Mach 1 one time, so that's not a problem.

The price is kinda high (especially when you aren't getting paid), so I may have to wait. I might contact him to see if it can be made in flat black. But if it's custom made, it might be worth it.

Thanks for the links, Bill!

How do you feel about it? Be honest (I know you would, but it's hard to be totally honest when somebody claims they like something so much).

I leaning on 60/40, FOR.

I treat this like my 3rd brakelight overlay, non-permanent mod, can be removed anytime I feel like it.

Too bad you can't make up your own message on that emblem, that would make things pretty interesting.

As you found out yesterday, it's alot of work BEFORE and AFTER the show, not to mention spending your entire day out there (which is not a bad thing, but can wear you down). And, maintaining a daily as 'show ready' definitely takes some discipline.

This is why my club's Drive-In is only held once a month, 9 months out of the year.

Bottom line, if you really enjoy it, go for it!

btw- If you do decide to enter the Sunset show, you have roughly 35 points in mods which places you in the Personalized Class. Equal to or more than 66 points will land you in the Modified Class. This point system only applies to BCMC shows (that I know of).

Very cool! Chalk up another for my 'show off' page.

1st and 4th pics down look like I have Saran Wrap on my car! Original pics are darker, guess they lighten them up.

I thought that's how you kept it so clean. Do you have those 2 pics full size?

You're right! I forgot to remove the cling wrap before snapping those pics!

Thanks Tom. Now about the Mach1 thingy I liked it and think it looks good BUT are cars aren't Mach1's and remember what you said about the cobrajet emblem?? I'd say if your going to get that then you should probably get the Mach1 rocker stripes.

I have a question about the SHR black gas cap. Does the black only come in a matted look? I'd get one put want it to have a gloss finish.

True, but that's what I was saying above. We don't have Mach 1's, but we do have Mach 1 Shakers (and I have a Mach 1 Taillight Panel). That's why I think one Mach 1 emblem isn't a big deal (and it would be all but hidden anyway).

I already have rocker stripes. And getting the Mach 1 rocker stripes would definitely be implying that you're car is (or you think it is) a Mach 1.

Think "car show" for a second. Nobody would ever see that emblem painted flat black in the scoop normally. But, at a car show, people are looking at the engine, looking at the hole in your hood, and then... hey, what's that? wow, that's cool... look at that... there's a Mach 1 emblem inside that scoop!

You know what I'm talking about...

I'm lost .

I meant that "you know" what it's like to have people talk about your car. And hearing them say that about the "hidden" emblem would be kinda cool.

A neat thing to do at a car show is to walk away about 4 cars down. Then start walking up toward your car with a group of people who are browsing. When you get to your car, lean in to look at the engine bay with them and you'll be able to hear all the comments (good and bad).

I would do the fuel door after you get your new wheels.

For instance, chrome Bullitts, go for the chrome door. Polished or black? Same thing. The fuel door should compliment the wheels, not be a contrast.

But, if you're stuck on the black door, the anodized finish looks pretty sweet.
