Another reason to get a 10mm Glock. You're a Photographer, just point and shoot.

Yeah but it's a different kind of pink power that's keeping Luis from Barona tonight.

Yeah good luck Leo and Brian. I want to see pictures and time slips.

Tom 281, I've got a question if you see this. I've got my new motor mounts machined down. I knew a guy that knew a guy and they took 1/2" off of them. They also retapped the bolt hole and extended the threads down further. My question is did you use the bolt that came with them when you installed your cut down mounts. Did the bolt bottom out? Did you have to get another, shorter, bolt?

+1, good luck guys. Brain don't forget your alarm clock for when Leo crosses the finish line (sorry Leo, but I'm still cracking up at that comment from earlier this week)

Actually I replaced the original bolts anyway with a regular headed bolt so that I could use a standard socket head on it instead of an allen wrench style head. And what I did was to use the stock length bolt, but I used the piece of mount that was cut off as a spacer, on top of the remaining mount and under the new bolt. That way, although the mount was cut and the engine was lower, the effective mounting depth of the bolt hole was the same as original. I think I said that correctly........ LOL let me know if you don't understand.

I've get it Tom. The engineer who actually did this suggested using a spacer. He said that a bolt acts like a spring and the longer the bolt the more strength it has. So using a spacer would actually be optimal. He also just told me to get a grade 8 bolt, whatever that is. We have a specialty bolt supply store here so I'll go there to get it instead of lowes. And when I do I'll get a 1/2" sleeve to use as a spacer, and standard hex head bolt instead of these allen head bolts. Thanks for the response Tom.

That's the strength of the bolt. Grade 5 would be weaker in tensile strength.

A grade 8 bolt will have 6 raised marks on the head of the bolt.

In metric, an 8.8 bolt is equal in strength to a Grade 5 SAE bolt.

10.9 = Grade 8.

12.9 is even stronger.

Metric bolts will have 8.8, 10.9, or 12.9 marked right on the head.
