And that's when a radar detector is worth it's weight in gold.

I went by a couple cops shooting radar and thing never went off untill I could actually see them so I said F it. If anything I noticed it made me drive slower because I'd hit the brakes everytime it went off. Never had a speeding ticket in 7+ years so I figure I'm doing alright. Don't need a detector just like I don't need a front swaybar. Probably just jinxed myself and I'll get a ticket on the way to Brians this weekend.

Ive always heard good things about the V1, I'm sure you will like it.

It has a lot of added features over the 8500 but I still like the 8500. Among other things the GPS marks locations of false alarms and then it doesn't go off in that spot again, I like that but I always hardwire my detectors and put them up by the visor and I didn't think that the GPS would get a signal because the detector is up against the headliner so I stuck with the 8500 for about $200 less and the same performance.
I was debating between the 9500i(same as the 8500) like you mentioned with the exception of GPS and some other little features. Actually I was really close to getting the 9500i for that false alarm lock out but I heard of too many people having issues with it locking out legit signals. So if I always have to wonder if that area I blocked has a cop sitting there it defeats the purpose of that GPS 8500 is hard to be at its price point.

I went with the V1 since I do 95% highway driving. Heard its unbeatable in long range and sensitivity. We'll see. I had the Beltronics v955 which has excellent range. I'll see how this $400 detector stacks against a sub $200 one.

Robbie do you use those visor mounts to hold your radar? Why not upgrade to what me and Bill use. That billet mount off the rear view mirror? I purchased another one to use with my V1

You know what they say cars that go fast need radar detectors

Jed

Ho do you like it? Is it as quite as everyone makes it out to be? I still have 30days to return if I dont like it. So far I'm happy with my choice. But feedback is never bad

Just throwing this out here...

Looking at my current timeline and days to go, I'm guessing that I'll get my car back in the week of July 7-11.

Again, I'll be pushing it for the next show date. Go Danny!

I like it a lot very sensitive with detection the GPS comes in handy to mark false alarms. Voice prompts are clear & sexy. I'm going to hard wire it if I ever get off my lazy azz to do it. It's pricy but I figure if it get me out of one ticket that pays for it.

Hey Luis, could you PM my buddy 70MACH1OWNER with some info on your GT500 spoiler? He's looking at some and could use a second opinion on if you're happy with yours, etc. Thanks.
