(probably not though).
Mine, not to rub it in Bill, will be the GT500 pumps so, with luck, fuel delivery won't be an issue or a mystery for me.

Can you believe I drop my car off in Three days !!!!!!!!

That's right, you could! LOL, good luck to you too man- I lost track of time I guess but your install will be complete asap too!

Geez in the past 90 days, we've had a member go turbo, a dude switch from Vortech centri to Saleen twinscrew, two dudes going with Vortech, and another dude going Whipple- WOW!

I know.. makes no sense. Based on Tom1's data, I'll be 'testing' mine out sans the BAP and see how it goes. I have the boost switch (for the BAP) already in place if need be. Test drive tomorrow or Wed should tell the story.

My day at Vortech...

Nice drive up PCH going up to Oxnard

Vortech's facility

Lobby

A rep there gave me a tour of their facility.. no pics though.
Saw an 08 Bullitt getting fitted for a blower as well as an 08 C6 (manual) Vette.
They got quite the operation going on that building, from Sales, Marketing, Parts Wharehouse, Engineering, engine & car dyno testing, Quality Assurance, and R&D.

Me leaving

And... my $60 stainless steel fitting and replacement brass fitting (under warranty).

I should be good to go now!

I dunno depending on how much power you're expecting to put out... I wouldn't leave anything to chance. If it goes lean and you're WOT....

Only thing installed were the 39# injectors.

I asked about a fuel pump change from the start... it's only an option if running over 10 psi. I was at 10 psi for the dyno run with no problems (as can be seen on the chart), but now I'm down to right around 8 psi at WOT, so I'm sure the stock pump is more than adequate.

Right from the turbo install manual:

So, I proved that... and then some!

Sounds totally different in person... don't know why the mic doesn't pick up the BOV.

He won't be near 560 unless he runs 12 psi (equivalent to 10 psi on a turbo).

My point is... I can't believe there would be anything to worry about with 6-8 psi.

The thing I don't understand is that we have return-less fuel systems. In my '89, when it was fuel-injected, if you installed a bigger fuel pump and sent too much to the fuel rail, anything it didn't need went back to the tank. The only thing you had to worry about was heating up the fuel, which reduces power. Now, with a return-less system, where does it go when you boost the flow and pressure with a BAP? And, do you have to worry more about heating up the fuel?

Maybe the new fuel pump module does that ?? Part of the drive-by-wire system ? It's gotta know load on the engine so it should send the requisite amount of fuel pressure, right ??

Honestly I have no idea, but you make a very good point. I'll ask ST Motorsports that when I go out there Thursday and see what they say. Who knows I could gain some insight to the whole operation.

Tom and the rest of the BAP world makes valid points,, that's the problem.

During the test drive, WOT will not be sustained and will note the A/F LED's to see if it goes and stays in the 'Rich' condition, will also note the fuel pressure at WOT too.

Maybe the push for BAP's is for the extra margin of safety, more than a needed requirement.

Okay, I'll bite..

Hmm.. I'm willing to bet donuts to dollars that with my 4.10's and 305's out back, I'll jump out from you like Carl Lewis in the 100m dash!
By the time your TS plays catch up, we've done run out of road and will have to shut down.

Too bad you won't be able to put all that torque down to the ground.

Yeah, tell me about it. They (Vortech) knows it's stronger, but to cut costs, opted for the brass.

Like Luis, I'm not too fond of cases, prefer my iPhone to go native!

The Speck holster is good enough for me.

btw, got you MGW cap cleaned, polished, and ready for delivery Wednesday night.

yeah, stainless steel should have been in the kit. If brass isn't just right it leaks. PITA.

Figures after I buy a case this shows up... I'll have to check it out when I get toy computer next.

Bill with the 4.10s, 305s ain't gonna matter. Although having less power might help. Still you're gonna have to hope I'm sitting still spinning the tire to get past me. I'm smelling an Irwindale showdown.
