Like Tom mentioned, I'd wait until you actually show symptoms of this 'hesitation' problem before taking it in.

You know the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Wish it were so simple .
People with the tunes have had this problem as well, I don't think that would help (at least not for this problem)

I know, I was just playin' with Tom.

For all we know, Tom's foot may have slipped of the 'go' pedal, thus inducing that hesitation he felt.

That is funny.
Well now for my I HATE FORD SERVICE CENTERS story.
So I drop off the car this morning 7:30 am. Tell them about the hesitation problem the TSB etc. I also asked them to do the 5K Maintenance and the black plastic Latch Cover in the trunk is wiggling all over the place.
Well, I call them at 4:00pm and this is what I get.
Yea This is Daryl and I am calling about the status of my car.
Well the technician has not been able to reproduce the Hesitation you were talking about.
No ****, I told you it won't happen unless you take it on a LONG cruise. You know a 45 minute plus trip.
Well it should be throwing a lean code and it is not.
Everyone that I know of with this same problem, their cars didn't throw any codes either.
Well he has had it out a couple of times and can't get it to reproduce the hesitation.
He has had MY car out a COUPLE of times ?? Why the hell is he driving it anyway. You have to take it on a LONG trip and he better not have done that.
He has had it on the machine all day.
Has he had it on the machine all day or has he had it out a couple of times which is it ?
Well he has had it on the machine. We don't have the part we have to order it. Maybe a couple of days.
Did you get the rotation and inspection done?
No
Did you fix the trunk cover?
No.
WTF you had my car ALL day and you haven't fixed ****?
Well we will fix it all when we get the part and I will have them rotate the tires before you get here at 5:00pm.
I am banging my head at this point and the blood pressure is up a BUNCH.

I show up at 5:00 car is still sitting in the PRE service area.
Well he didn't get the tires rotated.
WTF, I am pissed right now. I had no car all day, had to get rides to and from work and to and from lunch and you got NOTHING accomplished.
Well we got a lot of testing done and know what the problem is now
Time for me to leave before I shoot somebody. I think I f-in told you the problem when I brought it in
I go to get my car and do a once over. No scratches etc.
Get in car, **** Sasquatch was driving it, I can't even reach the pedals.
Adjust seat and steering wheel to MY position.
Check my computer to see how far and hard he drove it.
This is the funny part.
1.9 miles
AVG MPH 10
Time 15:00 minutes.
WTF. No wonder he couldn't reproduce the hesitation. 1.9 miles at 10 MPH. You can't TELL **** in that amount of time.

Time for some BEER

Exactly why I won't take the car in unless it's major. I got 4 free oil changes when I bought the car and I wouldn't take it there if they put in Mobil 1. This isn't just Ford service centers... it's any service center. It all goes back to people not treating the car as if it's their own.

That sux big time.

If there is a next time, you gotta get with the Service Manager and explain a few things that weren't to your satisfaction, especially the way they dealt with the TSB. If you don't get that 'warm & fuzzy' from the Manager, time to go find another Dealer.

Come to think of it, I'll have a beer too!

Agreed. If I can fix it myself, I'll do it.

I get the notion that (most) of these Mechanics treat customer cars like valet attendants, you know the kind, greasy arm slung over the passenger seat and palming the steering wheel...

When a GT comes in for service, especially with stripes and a Shaker, it brings evil smiles to those guys, kinda scary what they're thinking.

But, if it has to go in for warranty, WE all don't really have a choice. Oh well!

Along those lines, I keep thinking about that Pypes Off-Road H-Pipe. I think it's only (I use that term loosely) $169.99 thru Brenspeed and looks just as easy of an install as the over-axles. And with the BamaChips tune, the rear O2 sensors will be turned off, so no CEL.

Still don't really want to mess with anything else. The exhaust was for sound improvement only (and better looking tips), not for HP. The tune will be mostly to get rid of that lag & to correct my speedo exactly for the tires I now have. Plus, it will be nice to have the computer know what's in our cars... shaker, exhaust, etc., to improve mid-range torque where we drive it most of the time. If more HP comes with that... then so be it!

Doesn't make it any easier with that BamaChips ad at the top of the screen!

Oh I'm not into the H-Pipe for any HP gains, just pure sound (or noise depending how you look at it ).
I heard it's only a 45 min swap at most, so if I need to re-install the cats again (in 2011), it won't be a big deal.

Yeah, that ad up top keeps calling my name..

Have fun with the ice cream. We have the Blue Bell plant near Austin. I bet it's better!

Got my car back. I have to say, I had a good experience with my dealership (both body shop and service). They were very helpful in tranferring my car from body shop to service and back. They explained everything very well and even tried to get the car fixed sooner than later.

Bumper looks good. Needs Zaino. Not a single scratch on my car, and it still smells like new.

Ice cream sounds pretty good right now. Guess my Klondike Bar will have to do!

Good to hear they did you right. I think you have to wait a week or two for the paint vapors to go away (?) before Zainoing it.

And mine smells like new too!

After 5 weeks of patiently waiting for my MRT louvers, they still haven't shipped!!

Nothing but pipe dream dates on when they'll come in stock, when they're going to the painter's, numerous ship dates... can't believe anything they say.

ORDER CANCELLED.

If it weren't for my hood struts, I would not recommend MRT for anything.

In it's place, I ordered my H-Pipe!

Going to get the MIL eliminators? Or just wait to get rid of the check engine light with the tuner?

Hope you guys had a nice trip.

I'm just going to wait until I get the SCT. I say, why blow $50 now just to turn off the MIL? Also, I've read that it could take 2-3 weeks of everyday driving before the MIL kicks on. So really, I may not see it for months even without a tune.
