Luis- Brenspeed huh.. now we'll have 2 POTR SoCal guys running the Brenspeed tune! That'll soon leave Ray and Leo as the only Bama guys.

Brian- I think the diameter looks fine. Stock is 27.3, but if you went any bigger in tire diameter, the sidewall would look like baloons.
The 0.3" does make a difference, it's like adding a half a finger to the wheel well gap. It's the only reason why I'm switching to the Eibach Pros; too much gap visually with the Ultralites.
This is the dilemma that I kinda have with the 20" tire selection, stay low profile or larger sidewall with an overall larger diameter. I need to see what tire size comes on the stock 20" Saleen cars.

Vortech update...

First start-up has got pushed back to tomorrow.

Only hang up is the MAF connector extension still has to be done.

Hector spent the majority of time after work chasing down an OEM vacuum T-fitting for the boost gauge. After 3 Ford dealers (none had it), he found one at the C***y dealer!

Sooo, this completes the 3 sender units for my gauges, all that's left is the wiring stuff.

Latest pics...

Snap-On coolant pressurization kit. System checked at 18 psi for 1+ hour, zero leaks.

Autometer vacuum/boost sender bolted to firewall, connected to a 'T' off the large vacuum line. Cowl vent and wipers had to be removed to install lock washer/nuts.. no self-tapping screws here!

Coolant recovery tank pee tube routed and secured with marriage clamps.

Bill.... It sucks that start up got moved back, but good to know that absolutely everything will be done to perfection. That alone makes the wait at least a little better(easy to say when it's not mine......)

It's real hard to compete with the Canton Sexiness.... but I'll try..

The car is dirty and I didn't pick the "perfect" place to park... shadows are long in the morning.

But here you go !!

Dan's car really cemented, for me, that 285s would be OK width wise. It's hard to tell but as far as panhard adjustment.... they're not too far off. The driver's side tailpipe, however, needs to be fixed.

All this sidewall height (this and another thread) has got me re-thinking on what rear tire size I want.
I was initially considering the Proxes 4 in 295/30ZR20 with a overall diameter of 26.9"...... a -0.4" smaller diameter than stock. But, now I'm afraid that the sidewall may be too skinny, thus creating a larger wheel well gap.

My new tire I'm looking at is a Toyo Proxes T1R in 305/30zr20 with a overall diameter of 27.2". But, these bad boys run around $329 a copy.

OR, I can just run what Shelby recommends, 275/35ZR20 (27.6") and call it a day.

Tire selection, what a PITA.

If it's that close, I'd leave it for now.

If and when you get an adj PHB, which one to get? I think Leo and Luis agreed that the Steeda one is a PITA to work with.

Do you think those will look bad? I think I would try to find out what those look like. Those should fill out the wheel well nicely.

Since I solved the issue with my PHB, I would recommend the Edelbrock if you want easy adjustability. It couldn't be much more simple to adjust.

Tell me about it. I ran so many different tire sizes trying to find the *right* fit, I was about cross-eyed. I didn't want something too big that it looked balloonish or too small. Have to admit Ford did pick a good size wheel/tire combo (once you lower it) for the car. Will go check that thread out. IMO, they 275/35s might be too small.... but I don't know what it'd look like on 20s

HAHAHA...Funny you ask... CHE, is the one I'll probably get because I can get a blue one After Leo's issues not gonna do the Steeda one.

did you get rid of your old tires? if it was me, after you get the supercharger installed, I'd put the other wheels back on, and roast the heck out of 'em.
