Haha, Ton hows the Saleen doing. Think of any new mods besides the rotors to accompany the new blower?

I've been thinking about getting the headlight splitters like on George's PJ. How do they look in person? Can you get those anywhere pre-painted and ready to install?

Saleen is doing great.... everytime I drive the car, the pull and sensation of power amazes me. After rotors/pads and the new DR's for the strip, I think I'm done for a while. I want to just enjoy the car this year, not continue to plan/research/implement mods constantly. To be honest, I was only going to do a performance brake pad but since Rotorpros made me a great offer (available to TMS members) I couldn't resist doing the rotors too. Oh and I have a new G2 calipler paint kit coming, I'm having problems with my rear calipers chipping...... ?? Don't know why.

When are you getting the blower installed??

I think you can get splitters prepainted from Stage 3 Motorsports, Atlanta Mustang, and other places.

I've seen them first hand on 70MACH1OWNER's car and they look great. But it is a love/hate thing.... some like them, some don't. I think they look great on his car, but don't think I'd put them on mine.

Cool... I'll check them out.

A guy at work (that really doesn't like Mustangs) was telling me the other day how nice my car was and that it was the little things that made it stand out.

I think the splitters would make the nose just a little different from most other GTs out there.

I'm of the nature less is more or stealth is better but the splitters might be a very nice accent.

I think they would look good... not too much going on there to be over the top.

Hey Tom..

Hector did mention to me that it can be installed in 11 hours or so, but it won't be a show quality install. I told him to take his time and make sure everything is perfect. Now if my car was a DD, things would be different as I'll need it to go to work and stuff. But, the reality is that the Mustang will go straight from his garage to mine and just sit there until a mod install, carshow, or a flogging session.
So basically, I'm not in a rush to get it back, although the anticipation is killing me (in a good way).

Leo's calipers are painted black, Brian's red... same 18" Bullitts. Check out their wheel pics for comparison.

New problem: Too much power! (actually, I think too much torque)

I was peeling out the other day in 1st... 2nd... and 3rd... and it turns out that in 3rd I wasn't peeling out the tires, I was peeling out the clutch. Darn sticky BFGs. I've said it once, and I'll say it again... the tires need to be the weak link - if they aren't, you'll find your next weakest link.

Anyway... this was the one thing I was concerned about (over the internals) since it happened on my '89 when I found all the power.

So, I will definitely be turning down the boost to around 6 or 7psi. I talked to the tuner and he said I can put it anywhere I want under 10psi and the tune is unaffected. With that pressure (compared to 10psi) the torque will be greatly less and the clutch shouldn't have a problem maintaining the clamping force needed.

prepainted, 3d Carbon spiltters: http://www.atlantaauto.com/ford_mustang/3d691029.php

I think we're gonna have similar problems with clutches..... I've been debating on which aftermarket unit to go with for about a year now. Leaning towards a Spec 2+ with steel flywheel.

Turning down your boost is only a band-aid......

And yours are not painted correct Bill?

Any plans for you to paint yours?

And you must have a preference? Red or Black.

I found a picture of one of the guys cars in my club that has the splitter (on a white car) to hopefully give you a better idea on what the splitter would look like...
