18x9 front and 18x10 out back.

I've kinda decided on DD Bullitts, but found some of the Hot Wheels wheels I think they're called 68s.... probably go with bullitts but the Hot Wheels look awfully cool.



Well, never mind. They only go to 18x9, no 18x10.... still they look cool.

 

Brian, that set up sounds just right.

Jed: Axis.. Looks okay, but not for my car.

 

Personally I think 255s on all 4 is good. But that is partially because I am trying not to draw attention to my car.
Hot Wheels look fine, Axis doesn't do anything for me.

 

I think I blew that once I put the white stripes on my car.

The 255's may not cut as far as traction once Brian goes FI. Heck, Leo even has a hard time with them.
As for me with the 235 stockers, forgetaboutit.

 

I have plenty of traction with 255's all the way around. Unless I dump the clutch.

Of course, turbos come in a lot differently than superchargers. Where I lose traction is when I'm flooring it on the Turnpike and the tires break loose at 90 MPH. That's scarier than fish-tailing off the line!

The softness of the tire has a lot to do with it, too. As we all know, the BFGs are very soft. Put a set of 255's on with a 600 treadwear rating and it will spin all day long.

The traction rating has nothing to do with traction during acceleration. It's an indication of the tire's ability to stop on a wet pavement.

 

Leo's got the same tires as you and like his C/T says, he has none at the track.

But I agree, for everyday agressive driving, they're 100% better than the stockers.

That scoop however, does look very good! I like how you didnt continue the stripe down the side, I've seen a few people try it, and I dont think it looks the best in the world.

 

Scoop looks good. They actually look even better in person. Got a chance this weekend to see one up close.

The seats on the other hand. Not sure about them... mainly cause I can't see them. The images are broken.

 

Here are some pics of the Mechanical Water Gauge 1/2" NPT fitting installed into the intake:

Attachment 40179 Here's the boss where the fitting will be installed. Should be very accurate since this is where hot water leaves the intake to go over to the radiator.

Attachment 40180 Radiator hose removed, towel stuffed in, and a small hole drilled. Grease was used on the bit to hold shavings, and a vacuum was used while drilling to suck in any loose shavings.

Attachment 40181 Here the hole was drilled up to 11/16" and a reamer was used to open it up closer to the required 45/64" hole.

Attachment 40182 With some Tap Magic, the aluminum is a piece of cake to tap. Looks like I got it fairly centered!

Attachment 40183 Here the 1/2" NPT fitting is installed with some sealer specifically made for coolant. Normally I would clean off the bead, but since the shaker covers it, I left the bead alone.

Attachment 40184 Second part of the fitting installed with plenty of room for the bulb to drop into the intake.

Attachment 40185 Here is the gauge. I didn't take a picture of it with the coolant hot, but fully warmed up it read 182°. I was told it would go up to 195° on the street. I'm returning this gauge and I'm going to get the one that goes from 120-240... that will put 195-200° right at the top center of the gauge.
