Beautiful! Now you really, really, really, really, really, really, really need to lower it.

Are those swirl marks on the roof?

J/K...

Have fun putting Leo's stock H-Pipe back on! Wow, that is heavy compared to the Pypes H-Pipe. Also, the connections to the headers are harder to line up since the crossover pipe is welded. The Pypes H was loose there, so you could line up each header connections separately, but now since it's welded, there was a little "spring" effect. I got the one side lined up and finger-tight, then you kinda have to pull the other side into position. Until the nuts are tight it fights you. I'm sure it will be easier with two people.

It sucks that you have to swap it back out temporarily. When do you have to do it?

Make no mistake, Leo will be getting his hands dirty!

We'll turn Leo into a Gear Head in no time flat.

Project H is scheduled for Black Friday.

I asked Daryl to check his car for me, but the cat on the passenger side is pretty close to the frame:

The driver's side cat is far enough away to slide my fingers in between the cat and the frame:

http://s47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...t=DSCN4403.jpg

I was done and loosened EVERYTHING back up just to make sure there was no other way it could be installed, but because of the hangers, header connections, and welded cross-over pipe, that's the way it is. It has to be the way it was before, but I never looked at it and never noticed.

If anybody else (Mikes?) cares to check - you don't have to jack the car up - just reach under the car and see if your fingers fit between the cat and the frame. WHEN COLD!!

Nothing I can do, but I'm curious if yours are the same way.

Here's a couple pics on one of the first S197 GT's shown to the Press. I knew I kept these around for some reason.

Lucky.

Thanks guys for the postive feedback. Not sure if you noticed but I took springs off my list. I'm just not sure I want to deal with having to drive over bumps any slower than I already do with the chin spoiler. Maybe you can convince me Tom since your car's a daily driver. For now though I don't think I'll be doing it. Next up will probably be the rotors but no more mods untill christmas or untill I sell my both sets of wheels.

Bill/Tom- Is the rotor install really as simple as removing the wheels and then removing to screws on each caliper??

You couldn't afford it I love wrenching on stuff, so I usually just work for beer. Now that you know where I'm at, drop by anytime.

Have any idea how many guys here use their Mustangs as a daily AND have both a CDC Classic & Eibach Pro/BMR/Steeda/Roush/etc. lowering springs combination? Lots.
You just have to be careful. The 'look' is worth it IMO.

On the rotors, yes, it's fairly straight forward. Having a breaker bar would be a plus when doing it yourself. Check out my 'How-To' to see what's involved.
However... I think you mentioned that you are near 10k miles. If so, I would recommend installing new brake pads along with the new rotors.

Those don't show enough. Daryl PM'd me back and said his is the same as mine - a lot of room on one side, and not so much room on the other. I knew it had to be that way, but it makes me feel better that he checked.

Do it! The only way I would really worry about it is with the Eibach springs (like on my '03 GT). That was a 1.5" drop. The Ultra Lites are only 7/8". Your car will look soooooo much better slightly dropped. I have NEVER hit the chin spoiler even one time on anything on this car.

Like Bill said, the rotors are a very easy swap. If you have a helper, you can swing off the calipers, slide off the old rotors, slide on the new rotors, and then put the calipers right back on without the need to "hang" them. You might be surprised on how little brake pad wear you have. I'm slowly gaining on 7K and if I was doing the rotor swap today I would still use the stock pads. Unless you've been doing some Autocross racing lately...
