Me and some friends went to the track today for Test - N - Tune. Very first pass after getting there and swapping tires (gotta love the e/t drags) A friend in an 01 lightning and I lined up. I knew it was going to get my tail handed to me since he was on slicks as well. We launched it and it was pretty close all the way to about the 1000' mark. He beat me by about 3 car lengths. We didnt get our slips (printer error) but my fiancee and other friends said He ran a 13.01 and I ran a 13.36. a new personal best for me. She didnt get the trap speed.

Next run about an hour later, i clicked off a 13.47@102.9. Yes the air was good today Followed taht up with back to back 13.7s and then a nice 14.1 (I missed 3rd gear bad). I decided to call that a day before my tranny hated me anymore.

Nice runs, Scott. We'll have to take the Cobra and Mach down to Steele in the next few months and match 'em up. Of course you'll have to run on your street tires.

hehe i'll run ya on street tires, but i can guarantee i wont hit a 13.3. it'll be more like a 13.8 or so, specially if they dont prep the track (like they never do)

Hey Scott, what are your best 1/8th mile times on street tires? Look in my sig for mine, that was a couple of Sundays ago at Huntsville, they have been prepping the track really good and they're running Sat. & Sunday's as long as the temp is over 45.

Travis, i'd be careful running slicks on an 03 if you have the IRS out back. One problem is that slicks will put so much abuse on your rear suspension, you can break something on the first pass. Not saying that it will happen, its just a really good chance. Also, you can't run a 15" tire/wheel on there due to bolt clearences with the IRS, so you will have to run a 16". Thats going to make the cost a lil more since its a "off" size tire rim combo. Check out http://www.summitracing.com for various rims and tires.

Skip, I think my best street tire 1/8th was a 8.81 or so at steele and we know how that place hooks

Any plans on going to Steele or is the place even open any more? Would have liked to have made it to Montgomery this past weekend, it's a little too far to try to make with Church on Sunday.

Steele is closed right now due to water damage the track got late last year. Hopefully we can get an update soon.

Scott, Very good times I'd like to go back and try again but I am waiting for an aftermarket upper control arm to become available. This thing hops like a $2 rabbit
