So what are you supposed to do tonight?
What's your job? I know you have fire training and I think you work at a BasF plant. But are you an operator? I and e mechanic?

Trust me, buying a GT500 still makes me a cheap *** compared to what most people would expect from a redneck like me.
Probably the first person that has ever said that to me. I have the IQ of a box of hammers, so I take that as a compliment.

Pretty much get paid to show up and monitor equipment. The biggest part of my job is to prep equipment for maintenance to repair. Lock out tag out and permitting. More responsibility than actual work. Some days are non stop though.

My dad spent 15 years with DuPont before becoming a builder. He started in sign shop in 1963 and then worked up the cabinet shop, i and e, and then operator on the nylon line. Quit in 1978 after selling the first and second house he built for himself because the buyers rang the doorbell each time and made an offer he couldn't refuse.

He didn't regret it. He's a dreamer though. I think my mom regretted it for a while. She didn't care for the ups and downs of being a builder. She liked the steady paycheck. I know he did miss all the time off and vacations we would take even if it meant he'd have to work a hurricane or thanksgiving or something. Lots of off time.
I run into people that worked with him. Evidently he was quite the practical joker and cut up. I would have never thought it.
In the end he liked being his own boss and liked that if he had a great idea for
Something it was the property of DuPont.

My buddy's dad retired from DuPont a few years back. Sold tires out of his garage for years. Built a really nice shop when he retired. Making tons of money now and his kids are set with the business also. Says all the time that he should have just stayed at the plant. Kids aren't ready to take over the business yet maybe never. So he works his butt off after retirement. Lol

You'll probably have to lock a thread soon. I got tired of the condescending bull****. Don't lock it until you absolutely have to, I'd like to give them more rope to hang themselves. What a bunch of snobby, self centered, low self esteemed ********. Jesus, I've never seen a bunch of car people that were so self involved. Corvette guys are more down to earth, and they are the biggest ****s on the planet when it comes to superiority and thinking their **** doesn't stink.

My dads best friend was a company man for DuPont. Went anywhere they wanted him to go. He started same time as my dad and retired a few years ago. He went to Delaware, Korea, Singapore, for years at a time. In the end his kids hate him because he was never home. He's a good man and a fantastic mechanic. Did his own frame off restoration of a 57 Belaire. Also invented several valves for which he got nothing for because He was working for DuPont at the time. They own them and they made the money off them.
I could never do that.

Well. No company man here. But I do spend too much time here. Try and not work when the kids don't have school. It's rough but it beats wrenching on cars.

At lease all us dumb sons of bitxhes are working for an honest living unlike those pussies at OWS who are crying because their mommy made them soft and their daddy didn't buy them an Xbox.

You know, I've gotten a nod and a thumbs up from a guy in a Viper before, but I seriously doubt a guy in a Boss would even turn his head unless you were in a Boss as well. Those guys are ****ing delusional about those cars.
