It's too bad that we do not have the Camaro brand to push around anymore. They never out-sold the Mustang and discontinued the Camaro for the second time.

Poll question? I never owned a Camaro. How about you?

Were drugs involved? Just kidding.

I was a big Mustang guy (no other Fords) for all of my life. I got a 1973 Porsche 911 in a trade 20 years ago. The car was built well, so I kept it. I was vintage racing a 1965 Mustang that was unbeatable for a Championship.

My first 1973 Porsche 911 RS-clone in Gemini Blue

Well, let's see. I've had more crap, I mean play toys, in the yard than I should have. But heck, the wife's a good sport, and it's cheaper than a 25 year old blond. As far as a favorite it's hard to say. All of the Mustangs have been fun to drive.

The wife's first. 2010

My first 197, and the wife's '13 that I guess is still considered a S197.

The boss's '18 S550

Like a knucklehead I sold the '06. I took awhile, but I finally found this '07 in the the fall of last year.

Here's pick of my rolling stock a few years back. It's changed since then. Oh, did I mention I've had way too many play toys than I should? (Of course, the Camaro, and the wife's Mustang remains)

Only one, and the only one I'll ever own. This is my Dad's '67 RS. It's bone stock numbers matching with a 327 c.i., and a powerglide on the column. It's been in the family since 1973, and I've owned it since 1977. He gave it to the wife as a wedding present. He said he liked her better than he did me. Of course I knew that already.

Just for the heck of it, here's a before pic....

I have the Camaro's sister, a 2001 Trans Am. It's been my all-time favorite car and owned since new (my old 2007 GT/CS is a close second but I had to sell it).
The LS1 engine in the T/A has been strong, although a bit noisy with that famous 'sewing machine' ticking. I have 82,000 miles on it and it's been a joy overall. The rear end did have some problems and was a $900 repair a few years back, but that's about it. Amazingly the a/c is still blowing cold and has never been touched (knock on wood).
I test drove one of the new Camaros in about 2017 or so but it fell far back in a distant 3rd behind the Mustang and Challenger. I didn't want one and still don't. Perhaps the Trans Am spoiled me.
Here is mine. We have been to New England several times in it and countless trips to Florida.

@NC14GT Dave, I understand about the new Camaro's. At first the wife thought about a new Camaro to go with the old one back in 2010. Being vertically challenged she had to run the seat all the up. And. when it got there the roofline obscured her view. It was a nice car, but that just wasn't safe. Of course she went with the Mustang, and now she's hooked.
