Nothing about anyones stang disgust me until you start trying to pass it off to be something its not. Then it is total disgust. You are new to the stang community and that is how it is. If you like the snake emblems go buy a real shelby. You asked for opinions so we are trying to give you level headed advice from people who have been in the stang world a long time. It is almost an unspoken code..something you just do not do.

Ahhhh...but you couldn't be more wrong!
It IS all about what I want! It's my car!
I wasn't asking what I should do! I was asking for the thinking behind it?

I honestly couldn't care less about what anyone else thinks
Or says about it? I have no interest in car shows, people commenting on it or "passing it off" as anything. (Is a stock GT with cobra badges really gonna fool you??)

I also think there may me a maturity issue going on here as well. I suspect
I'm older than most here..

Well now you know the thinking behind it and why we feel like we do! You are right. It is your car and you can do what you want with it. Remember you are on a forum and when you ask questions like this you are gonna get opinions like ours. It really has nothing to do with age. With that being said good luck with your project!

2) fool me? No. Fool ppl that know absolutely nothing about mustangs? Most likely.
3) probably are older. More mature? Maybe. Do I care about that? Nope.

You can't be much of a car enthusiast if GTR badges on a civic doesn't bother you.

IBT

Putting Shelby badges on a GT( or worse a V6) is like stuffing socks in your underwear, too make it seem as if you have a bigger package.
In the end, it's your car so do what you want.

Lol.....guess I'm not! Don't even know what civic looks like?
Is that a real car?
And don't think I've ever heard of a "GTR" either.

I did have a show car many years ago! 1973 cuda but.....
It had tons of "INCORRECT" parts
1070 Shaker hood, wing and gauges. And...... Better be sitting down boys!

........a 1970 hockey stick stripe!!!!! (Oh the horror!). Lol....

Walk over as he pops the hood and you see the anorexic 2v sitting underneath. (At that point I instantly wanna dis the guy for what trick he just played on me) as you sit there in disgust a teen walks up and says to the owner "clean cobra man! Whats all done to it?" And the owner doesnt even correct him and say its a gt...

Kinda like walking into a bar and seing this hot chick. You sit next to here and start a conversation. Shes interested . You sit and chat a while. Buy a couple drinks. Then its time to go home. You take her to your place for a good time. Get in the bedroom and find out shes really a he as she drops her pants.

Its a false turn on. Thats why ppl hate it. Posing. Thats what it is.
Great post but remember its up to us to do our research before we jump into any scenario. We know better. Let the young uns learn their lessons. Lol

No, I'm 58 years old and the young gun in my car club. You may not be into show cars but we are, and most (not all) of us, frown on incorrectly presented cars. Mods, no problem. Fake badging, including the SS badges I mentioned earlier, YES, a problem. It isn't just young guys or Ford guys, it is across the spectrum. Now you know.

Since this is a badging discussion, let me ask this of the group.

I purchased a 2013 V6 with the following plan in mind. My plan from the very beginning was to add as many bolt on power adders as possible, and the jewel under the hood will be a Procharger supercharger. When that goes in, and ONLY then will I add my "police interceptor" badge in a discrete location on the rear deck lid.

Does that make me a poser or a wannabe? Personally I don't think so. I am not saying it is something it is not. I created a sleeper, the way I wanted and want to throw that badge on to let people know that while I have a V6 and I have the fender badges on it to prove it, it can still haul. Also it is my small "tribute" to the black police interceptor from the 1979 film Mad Max.

Obviously opinions on this will vary. Flame suit ON!!

I thought you had to be a cop to put police interceptor badge on your car? I'd throw snakes on before I did that. (Not that id do either)

Pretty sure it's illegal??!
Anyone?

Searched several other forums before I even bought the badge from American Muscle. All indications are that it is not illegal. It is a badge, not a light bar with working lights.

I don't know... I think you could be asking for more trouble with that badge than the others. Just my opinion.

But as our constitution states. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Go for it!
