I happen to be rather taken with most of them.

Your question is a little vague... are you talking about *all* of Mustangdom from 1964.5 to 2009? or models of brand new 08-08 Mustang?

In any case, here are my candidates for your consideration:

2005-2009 Mustang GT Coupe
1966 Mustang Coupe
1978 Mustang II Hatchback
1986 Mustang SVO, but stick a 5.0 in it and use the scoop... unless you like rebuilding 2.3L Turbos every 70K
1993 Mustang LX 5.0 Hatchback... never had one though.

That'd be my list. Now, my favorite? Geez... that's hard to say.

It's easy to say The Awesome is my favorite... and truly, she's my lil' darlin'. Why, she survived Hurricane Ike with no scratches or anything sitting outside in the driveway! She's fun, she's good lookin'... I get a grin every time I show up or talk about her, and she has her name on her: "AWESME".

The Muskrat was a joy to build, and I have fond memories of her, and there's not many days I haven't wished I hadn't sold her... I had always wanted a '66 coupe, but you can read the story yourself.

The '78 Orange Bomb has a special place as it was my first car, and she got the comments. Good lookin' little II, but if it had only had the 5.0 in it, it might still be around. It didn't, it had that German V6 and was in the shop every 3 weeks for something... but the tranny finally quit, and Dad had enough by then... but I still want another one.

The SVO was another one I just *had* to have. But there's no way I'd ever own another black car again. And the overpowered 2.3L turbo warped the head and block between cylinders 1 and 2 when she died at 70k. Nobody could believe it, but straightedges do not lie. But man, was she a FUN car, and the best lookin' Fox body they ever made. So makin' a 5.0 driven SVO would be a fun thing for me, even if the purist would lynch me for it. Heh.

And finally, the 93 5.0 LX Hatchback... I so wanted one of those, but could not swing it. It'd be fairly easy on parts, good running, reliable, all that. But it never happened. It's *close* to the SVO in many ways, without the gaudy GT cladding and those weird GT taillights. I *never* liked the louvered look. The LX was a clean look. Esp with the dark green with gray tweed. Yeah.

I probably didn't help, but there ya go!

If I were to buy a Mustang now, it'd be the Bullitt. No question about it.

If i had t buy a mustang again (which i will) it would be a GT500,08 bullitt, or 03 Cobra or 03 mach 1. maybe even a 98 cobra cuz i like them. if i had to buy an older car it'd be a Boss 302 for sure, or maybe some fastback with a 390 or 428. if i wanted a drag car i would deff go with a fox

My first car was a '72 Mach 1. It wasn't perfect [Hell, it was a Torino!] but I loved it anyway. I still prefer the looks of the older Mustangs but I wouldn't want to deal with the compromises that come with owning an older car. The 2005-2009 car captures that same spirit and is very easy to live with.

no love for the foxbody :sigh:

i have had a few over the years but i always find myself going back to the fox. i have not had an s197 yet but the gt500 is in view for my next new car. there is something just raw about the fox but it is nice to have refinement and not have to worry about breaking something when i am acting like an ***.

and here, i get to ***** her pictures out a little more. i want this to be a magazine car that still will get up and go.

I am biased. I must say my favorite Mustang is the Vista Blue Shelby GT Convertible

03 Cobra for sure because to me its one of those cars people are going to reminisce about 30 years from now the way we all do with 60s muscle cars today.
