Extras with oil change

Dealer pushes "maintenance Interval Kit ( Kit 6567) which is just additives to the gasoline and oil. 388761 ??

Supposedly to remove deposits from piston rings, restore compression ........... bla bla bla.

Is this stuff any good ?

Thanks

Hershey

PS: I have 80,000 miles on my 2012 V6 ----- runs great.

Nothing more than snake oil IMHO. Just regular oil change intervals are sufficient enough.

There are additives that can help keep and engine cleaner and run more efficiently. But most of the time people would buy them at a auto parts store. Something like sea foam with the gas or stuff like that. I don't know but seems as if they are trying to go you to spend more money. I haven't gone to a dealership in a little while. Except for to get the recalled airbags replaced. So I might be a little out of touch with this stuff from the dealer but this is why I stopped going there.

Dealerships are too pricey with their additives. I have used Chevron Techron for decades in all my cars. Just once per year. It helps in many ways and even keeps the gas float / gauge working n your tank. When I had my Corvettes in the past the Techron was strongly recommended. You can get it anywhere, even Walmart. They have different sized bottles so get the one that meets your needs.
Another item I use regularly is an inexpensive product called HEET. It's just an alcohol but It removes water from your tank due to condensation. On one occasion I let my Trans Am get too low on fuel on a trip to Florida. Going from cold to Florida heat built up even more condensation in my tank than I had normally as I never used the stuff. The car sputtered and nearly quit until I made it to an honest dealership in Florida. They said everything is fine, just get rid of the water. HEET did the trick and I have used it ever since. They have a yellow bottle for just the water contamination and also a red bottle which helps your injectors. I use both as they are priced very similarly when on sale. Again, Walamrt is the cheapest way to go.
I would skip the pricey dealership additives since your Mustang is running fine. Getting on the yearly regimen of Techron will only help, and if water condensation is an issue where you live, maybe think about the HEET.

Good friend of mine also uses HEET on his "65" fastback, It definitely resolved all his water condensation and sputtering issues and also uses it for all his vehicles.

That being said, I just may look into making the switch from Sta-bil 360 to HEET

Yeah I usually have a can of seafoam for when I have my car out and running during the summer but when I store it for the winter HEET is the way to go.
