Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining
So last week I was headed home from picking up a breakfast sandwich at McDonalds. It was a two lane road and there was a county tractor cutting the grass along the shoulder. So the traffic in front of me comes to a stop, I came to a stop and unfortunately the woman behind me was following to close and hit my back bumper. Just paint transfer, didn't even crack the fiberglass, but I still have to have it buffed out and repainted.
So today I dropped it off at the Ford dealership to have it fixed and the Enterprise car rental agency there at Ford gave me a 2015 F150 to drive. It's crew cab with the V8. I totally get the appeal of the full size trucks now. It is very comfortable, rugged but still rides good, quiet as can be. At 65 mph you can whisper and be heard in the cab. It runs very smooth and I'm getting 19mpg with the 5.0 V8 in this heavy sucker. I'm definitely getting rid of the Mustang some time in the next year and going with a full size truck.
At least on the trucks Ford bothers to paint the rear axle unlike the Mustangs which just get a nice rust coating.

lol Nope, serious as can be brother. I don't know if I will go with the F150 or some other full size truck but I'm definitely getting out of the Mustang and into a full size truck. Just liked it so much better. I wouldn't mind having a sports coupe for a weekend car, but for daily driving and versatility the trucks win hands down. Go take a test drive and see what you think. At least it shares the same motor that you have. lol

I've driven plenty of trucks before being an auto tech and a valet in the past. They are not fun to drive imo and are bad daily drivers. Poor fuel economy, poor handling, and difficulty parking and getting around tight spaces immediately comes to mind.

What is this thing "fuel economy" ? My truck does not "handle poorly" and I never had trouble finding a place to park. It's not like it's an F-350 dually crew cab. By your definition, a good daily driver that's good on gas, easy to park and maneuver in tight spaces....well that's a Toyota Yaris.
But back to the OP...enough about the axle paint, we get it.

My daily driver is a 2012 F150 FX4 5.0. and I have the 3013 GT/CS Vert as a fair weather toy. If I had to give up one, somebody else would be enjoying my Mustang.

Parallel parking is still a pain in the a** with a truck. Even if you get really good at it, its never going to be as easy as with a car.

I don't daily drive my Mustang. I have a 4 door compact sedan for that. It gets 30-35mpg

3 Series?
As for parallel parking, there are maybe 25 or 30 parallel parking spots in the entire city, they are all downtown around the courthouse. Everything else is standard pull in parking spots.

Nothing wrong with that, but if you did daily drive your Mustang you might understand why some people would opt for a full size truck instead and put a sports coupe in the stable for the weekends down the road.

I have a super duper uber nice 2014 f150 as my daily driver. the egoboost is good on gas and the camera makes parking a breeze. I also haul around a chewbacca sized mut named Tag so the crewcab is great. As for cabin quietness and comfort its outsanding. i have the uber duper super loud stereo with 8 or 10 speakers and it's like being in a theatre.
If i had to choose ONE vehicle though...it would be so hard. Love my 5oh mustang vertible.
