I was riding home the other day and sitting at a stoplight a Jeep pulled up with a saying something like this in the window, evidently directed at any ricer...

"Let me get this straight you've got 2 litres? The Mountain Dew I'm drinking is that big..."...

I laughed out loud!!!

QUOTE (twincamfxd @ Jun. 2nd, 2004, 11:52 PM)
I dont see many ****-carpeted 70's conversion vans at car shows......

????????????
I was referring to the conversion van craze of the 70's. It was almost as big as the ricer thing now, but died out in the early 80's.

Eh... my dad always talks about some stupid brown Volkswagen van he had when he was my age/a little older. I guess that's what that was all about, then.

How cool would it be if the future generations forgot about the "Rice Revolution" as quickly as my generation has forgotten about these 'conversion vans?'

And you're right, 05Fan. The Viper and Corvette are NOT muscle cars.
You would be correct, sir. However, neither is the Mustang.
Good question. I was driving when the Mustang came out. My first new car was a 1970 SS350 Camaro.

In those days, we considered Mustangs and Corvettes as players in the muscle car leagues, along with Barracudas, Hemis, GTO's, etc.

Did I miss something in my sojourn down memory lane?

I saw this pic on Rice cop and found that this dude is trying to sell this car on ebay. Look at one of the pics it says 2.0 HEMI. I think stupidity has reached a new level.

same thing with motorcycles. Japanese bikes are fast and disposable. who bothers to restore them? no one. Well I am sure there is someone that does but as a whole there is no market for old Japanese bikes.

Old harleys, indians, etc will always be in demand just like old muscle cars.
I have to disagree with you there. ANY motorcycle that is from the early '80s or older and are in good-excellent shape are pulling some pretty good money. Just visit any vintage motorcycle show or look out on eBay. Whether it is American, British, German, Japanese (street or dirt), they are becoming more and more desirable. For example, a buddy of mine restored a '74 Honda XR75 dirtbike and sold it on eBay for $2400 recently (he bought it for $300).

He's right, at best the mustang would be considered a sports sedan.

Some don't even consider the mustang a musclecar.

About the only mustangs which could possibly qualify for an actual sports car were the old Shelbys from about 64 to 66, maybe even 67

Otherwise it is what it is, a sports sedan.

I noticed, also noticed they crumple too easy in a accident. Saw a Excursion that rear ended a Civic today. I got there after it happened. I assume the Excursion will need new bumper with mounts, Civic ummm, whole new back end, new c pillars, yeah! No one was hurt though which is good.

i still love the ricers that talk about HP per liter. like my 1.6L honda makes 90 HP per liter. where your big block only makes 70. so my engine is better WAWAWAWA. shame our crusty ol big block still makes 350 HP to your 140! LOL i mean who really cares how many HP per liter a motor makes? sure 100 HP per liter sounds all great until you say my engine is 1.6 liters!
