Your helping me make my point. A real car person would know that was an M3. Just like I wouldn't have said anything if it was a Honda S2000 because I know what it can do. I had a 350Z behind me yesterday and I already think they are nice and wouldn't mess with it but the front lower grill piece being taken out and an extra large intercooler definetly stood out.

About 14lbs/hp, I am just after a comparison, what is the Mustang GT's weight?? To get better power/weight, it has to stay under 4200lb.

If that is the case, how does a car that has 14lb/hp beat a car that is 11.5lb/hp?

Tom, I am not having a dig, just trying to get my head round an obvious performance gap.

There must be a MASSIVE difference in handling, how does the S2000 fare against Cobra's with their IRS?

I wonder how much my cobra is. Its 400 to the wheels, so a minimum of 450-460 and the flywheel. I could probably figure this out buy im too lazy.

Hmmm I think you're using RWHP for the S2000 and rated HP for the Mustang. Are you calculating RWHP/curb weight or HP/curb weight?

HP for the S2000 is 240. 2809/240 = 11.6

HP for the 05 Mustang GT is 300. 3450/300 = 11.5
a bit of both!!!

So they are about the same then, figures.

Travis,

Get the calc done!! I am interested now!

with a 3665 curb weight, and minimum of 460 flywheel horsepower assuming JUST a 15% drivetrain loss, every horsepower has to move 7.96 lbs. not too shabby.

I just came across this thread even though it's months old. I got a good laugh... that's too funny. And Pimp My Ride is a joke. I won't lie, I do watch it from time to time... but strictly for entertainment purposes.

I am just wondering why all of Mavs posts only have smiley faces in them... Every once in a while when someone quotes him I can see what was said...
