I've done the autocross thing, and am not a particularly big fan of it. My problem is it rewards for how "nimble" a car is more than anything. I wouldn't mind it, except how much hp you have virtually does not matter.
Case in point. The last autocross I went to had a Turbo Supra (I know the guy, well done car and a very good driver who has raced for real in a pro series occasionally) Mustang Cobra, a C5 Vette (know this guy too), various imports etc. If I recall there was even an M3 on hand.
The fastest car there was a Focus ZX3 and he smoked everyone else. I like road racing, but I prefer a venue where you are not penalized for being larger than a breadbox and where you might actually be able to use your hp. This venue has virtually nothing to do with power, which just is not my thing.

Still, I'll go back to my original point. LIke it or not, costly or not, long lasting or not, what those guys do to cars takes skills--skills that I'll never have--and skill impresses me.
Would I want an PS2 in my back window? No. 22 inch gold rims? No.
The guys who REALLY impress me on that show is the guy who does upholstry. Being able to stitch like that is darn cool.
Yes, they work on cars that should be taken behind that barn and put out of their misery.

Ya u guys are right.. most of the stuff they put was useless.. but i wouldent mind takin my dads old car and sending it to them. bought it for $2,000 or so and after coming back from that show u could sell it on ebay for $30,000^ 
i gotta admit it is fun watchin how they put all the stuff in the car.. its just a shame that they gotta put it in a old worthless one

I love the cooper. Reminds me of my old MGB. "English" iron is fine with me, even if it is German made now! 
My sis had a old Mini when she lived in the UK. What a blast to drive! Rocket into the roundabouts, down shift and blast out the other side. It was like driving a go kart, just with the steering wheel on the other side. Took awhile to get used to everything being moved.
Still, I'm glad to see them back and I'd certainly have one for a daily driver---british racing green Cooper-S with black hood stripes and a checkboard roof.

Nope, but I haven't seen a Mustang beat a S2000 in an autox yet. Its possible with the right driver but it will be hard since the Mustang is at a clear disadvantage in this venue, due to its inferior suspension (live axle). And since 1/4 mile is apparently the bible here, a 5.2 seconds 0-60 and a 13.6 1/4 mile time is very respectable for the "torqueless wonder". BTW, isn't that faster then the pre-05 Mustangs?
and your car is a bike on four wheel, hence you have to twine the heck out of it to get it to move.
As for the S2000 being a little girl car... The S2000 is one of the best sports car to come out of Japan in a while, its one of the world's best outside of the elite makes. What other car can claim a 9,000 RPM redline, 120HP/Liter (well the RX-8), is rare and limited and is hand built right next to the NSX? It is Honda's best display of technology and uncompromised performance. When production ceases after MY2005 or MY2006, it will be an instant classic.

[/b][/quote]one PS2 is ok if thats all. i find the numerous game consoles and infinite screens annoying. you need to know when enough is enough IMO. all you really need is one system and one screen. i'd prefer it in the trunk where the whole world cant see it either. i dont like to be tooo flamboyant...unless im advertising my love of the 49ers
my point is 1 PS2 + TV=practical vs 3 PS2s + 17 screens is just bullcrap. you dont need it. it only adds weight and if people see it, they're gonna key you're car, or steal sh*t. more screens and systems is just showing off how rich you're hiney is, one system and one screen is for thepeople who actually think its inginuitive ti put a game system in a car.

yes, the S2000 will have longevity issues if you continually drive it at redline. at those rpm's the S2000's piston speeds are greater than those in Ferrari's F1 racer.

I got a good one for you, it shows the mentality. I'm getting groceries and there is some younger guy in the parking lot with a Civic si hatchback. He tells me how his car would probably take mine since my car is stock. I asked what made him think it's stock and he said it looked it. That my friends is their problem. I could have a supercharger under the hood for all he knew. He had custom wheels, ground effects kit, etc etc. That's funny.
