The 3.7L V6 is a far better engine than the 4.0L engine. The 3.7L has 305 hp versus 215 hp in the 4.0L. The 3.7 is also smoother, better on gas and makes good power up to it's 7,000 rpm redline. This factor alone is worth choosing the 2011.

I totally agree, I had the 4.0 v6 and it was a dinosaur. The 3.7 is a lot better and it gets better gas mileage.

Boss 0960 is right, the 3.7 is the better choice and not just because I own one. I owned a 4.0 Mustang as well. You'll be much happier with the 3.7. It will get better mileage while also producing less emissions and offer far better performance. The fact that it has lower miles also means less worry about repair problems in the immediate future. Best of luck.

Definitely the 2011 if you're fine with the price. Lower miles, modern engine. Overall a much better choice and you'll have a lot more fun in it.

In my own personal experience it is nice to have a mechanic as a friend.. I bought my 2007 4.0l used I asked the guy I was buying it from if I could take it for a drive and had my friend inspect the car before I bought it haven't had a problem with it since other than general maintenance
