Yeah, pretty straight. Some wide curves. It was highway, granted, but the amount of starting and stopping because of traffic lead to a lot of gear shifts.

have got a automatic in the 66 and is great fun ! I never thought it could be, I used to say that an automatic was for the older people..... But in a classic mustang I would always go for an autmatic (except a Boss of course)

In the 05 manual please, great fun too and it suits the car better I think !

All I drive is auto. Stick is a hassle. I learned years ago, but I hated it. I drove my brothers stick car, and its a chore for me. I dont see why its so fun. It may be cooler to show off, but I want to press gas and go. Can someone tell me why you love stick. I honestly dont get it. Why do you think auto is the majority now. Dont blow on my rant please. I come in peace!

It gives you more control over your car. It's all about mindset really. Analog vrs. digital, and what not. Some people rather do more of the work themselves, others do not care and want the work to be done for them. For me, manual gives you more control. With an auto, the gear changing is not up to you. This may not sound so bad but in a race it does. Suppose you need more power for example. Most autos, unless if it's digital and has a compettion mode, will up shift too quickly to save gas. However, if you have a manual, you get to pick and choose which gear to be in. Some people get it, some don't.

You'd love auto if you had a size 17 shoe size I am too clumsy in a stick, even though I do know how to drive it around.

Well yeah, you answered your own question. I'm a size ten. BTW, why do you drive a civic? LOL! Must be a pain each time you step in there buddy.

Yeah, its a project car. My whole front is all motor, with no sign of any bodwork. Had to make it fit. It started as a joke.

There are plenty of good reasons to get an automatic. But to me, the stick is just more fun. Also, it accelerates faster, gets better gas mileage, and costs less.

I sure as heck wouldn't want to drive a Civic with an auto, what little torque there is is sapped by the tranny. I think an exception could be made if it has a 454 squeezed in though.

You do realize, dont you, that drag racers use automatics? Try going to BandMs website and look at the products for automatics. Top fuel uses power glides I believe. Thats a 2 speed auto.Funny cars use 3 speed autos. Do you folks even know how an auto works? You can pick your own gears if you use other gear selections besides D you know. And no,R isnt for race. :nono:

R for Race.. haha..

A guy looks over at the car beside him at the intersection.
He revs engine menacingly.
The other driver revs in acceptance of the challenge.
He shifts into in R, ready to race.
The light turns green.
The other car goes motoring off.
His car rockets backwards, smashing rearend first into a city bus.
All the cool people race with gear R.

Yes what I said was broad. I know you can limit how high your cars gears can shift using overdrives but that isn't really 'shifting'. Auto trannys are planetary transmission. Each main foward drive gear has its own clutch. I was refering more towards circuit racing rather than dragging.

I am definitely going with a manual on the '05. Too much fun to pass up.
