2013 seat wear

I've been reading loads of horror stories concerning seat cover quality at all trim levels. Is there anyone with a 2012/13 that isn't' experiencing this? I don't want to drop $40K on a car and have to deal with this.

Thanks,

I have the 400a interior. Mine still looks great. I came from an Audi A4 and have owned A BMW and some other cars with nicer interiors. I think the leather on my car is pretty good. I have also seen a lot of people being critical of the leather quality. I don't see the issue. I do think the 401a interior's leather is nicer. I wanted the 400a interior because it reminded me of my seats in my 68. I am not sure if any of this helps. Good luck with your quest.

Thanks, man. It's helpful to hear positive things...I've wandered into the warranty subforum and my confidence in my future purchase is pretty rattled having seen all of these random issues. I haven't had a single issue with my S2000 after 50K miles. The interior still looks new - granted I take really good care of it. Just hoping to have a fair shot with the Mustang if I go that route.

Treat the leather regularly so it stays supple is important.

I learned this the hard way. I used armor all on my first car with a leather interior. The leather started looking cracked and weird when it wasn't bathed in armor all. I went to an upholstery shop and they told me the alcohol in armor all dried up the leather. I use the same stuff in the post above mine. It's great stuff.

I love seeing everyone’s positive feedback on this. I feel, they all look tons better with me in them. But, then again… that’s just my opinion.

Also, the following is from the “How To Clean Your Vehicle” guide:

“Leather care

If your vehicle features leather upholstery, maintaining its beauty and protecting it from damage requires regular cleaning and conditioning. We recommend using Lexol-ph Leather Cleaner and Lexol Leather Conditioner at least once every six months.”

Click here for more cleaning tips.

As others have said, don't worry about the leather quality. It ain't Lexus-quality but I've got no premature wear with 40,000 miles on mine - condition it 3x a year or so too.

since I am in AZ I cleaned and conditioned mine every two or three weeks. At 12k miles when I sold the car the leather looked and felt new.

If you read the warranty section you're only going to hear about problems lol. People rarely post when everything is fine. Go read the S2000 warranty section and you'll read similar horror stories.

Don't psyche yourself out man

I also have the 400a group and my leather is in perfect shape after 6 months. I'll treat the leather 3 times a year.

I have the CA special package with the suede inserts. It's been 6 months and I haven't had any problems. I keep the leather conditioned. As far as the suede goes, I don't think you can do much more than vacuum them.

Mine are great so far.

Then again, I have cloth Recaros.

And then again, I only have 2900 miles on my car.
