I'm 14 but from what I know is that the phrase "water broke" is when the umbilical cord breaks away from your stomach. But not on the baby.

The amniotic sac, or amnion, is a lining (membrane) inside the uterus that contains the fetus and the fluid that cushions the fetus (amniotic fluid). The amniotic sac is also called the “bag of waters.â€
So when your 'water breaks', this sac breaks and the fluid inside of it is released. This is when you need to get to the hospital ASAP.

Oh, and some women's sacs don't break, they slowly leak, or get broke in the hospital.

Thats gross.If that would have ever happened to me, I would have STILL been committed to Bryce.

Toxemia got me one kid. Hurricane Felix got me the second. I was spared.
