language filters
just noticed from reading some other posts that a few words may have escaped the language filters (boy I feel like a little kid going "awwww, you said a bad word")
assed
asses
and this one a while back that likely has been fixed: secret place (yep caught, but that's not what I would have expected)
mods feel free to delete and or censor once this has caught your attention

well I don't really care, but if you are going to have the language filters, then they should catch these things... if they don't catch them then once people find a word or two that get around the filters, they will be used.

I just perfer the people on the site to show respect rather then the site acting like their mommy.

This is a pg site and if we didn't have these in place there would be a lot of people trying to change this into a rated R site.

The bottom line is that the language filters will always be in place. It helps set the tone for this site. I think everyone here participates in other Mustang forums; you can get your cursing fix with them then come back here for your info.
so, have the language filters been updated?
test: hineys assed.
way to half-hiney it.
I didn't put the -ed ending because I'm trying to get the language filter to catch every possible way of avoiding the language filter... I only put what I've seen used before.

Regardless of your view on the filters, doing things like letter substitution or inserting dashes into a word to circumvent them shouldn't be done.
It's there, I think it's a little overkill on some words, but it isn't like it cuts into intelligent commentary.

We don't all have the same level of what words are Ok to "say". I like the filters because I can type the way I would talk. The filters do their thing. Most of us never say hiney in real life. If it says it in most posts, most intelligent people know exactly what was said and move on, no harm no foul. Although I personally feel the filters here are a little too tight, I would rather this than some of the other sites. If I want to hear all of the bad language, I can teach my kid "sailor talk" and be bombarded by it constantly
Great site Brad and it's one where my son (a future Mustanger himself hopefully) can watch over my shoulder and learn also.

Well said! Thats what we are trying to achieve. I feel that my son (when born, and old enough) can come here and have a great experience and I would feel comfortable about it.
