I'd rather see the focus of the new owners on better organization of the sub-forums and move away from a centralized forum, where people miss pertinent info and repost constantly, than putting ads all over the place.

If you're going to keep the small ads, put them where Tony suggested, or put a link (for the F150 forum) as a separate link in the forum index.

WTF? Even worse...when I posted earlier, they only stretched the screen and I'd have to scroll right to see the whole ad...Now It shrunk my screen too. And I *still* don't care about "F150FORUM.com"...

StangMods.com get's a tiny add on the right side, and I have a giant Dodge Ram ad all over the top of my screen?????????????

I have DSL, so my speed is so so. Wide screen , so plenty of room. As long as my page loads fast enough, I could care less if you sell soap on here .

I've surfed the web everywhere for what seems like forever. And this I believe has become one of the very best written, best managed and best maintained Mustang site in the world!! Are we hopefully going to stay that way? All those very great Mustang venders that were on here were also a very big part of this family! They fed us and we them. You fine gents have now taken over something that was pretty much as close to perfect as it can be for our TMS membership. Please don't try to screw that up by improving it just because you can. Or even try to give folks new things that they really don't want. If you choose to do so, it shall only be the possible slow death of TMS Golden Goose here. Please choose very wisely my friends. We asked and warned you not to do this to us the membership and to TMS! But you did not even listen to the very folks that this site was created for. It is time to man the life boats and get off of the sinking ship TMS Profits! After seven years of visiting and contributing to this site, now Terminating!! Time to move on to other sites! Goodbye. I realize that the sidebar is not going to be a popular addition to the forum. We felt like it was a necessary addition in order to attract Vendors to the site is a much more cost effective manner, which is something that members do want.

In a perfect world we would love to just serve Ford and Vendor ads along the top and bottom, but that has become increasingly hard to do given the drastic cut-backs most companies have in their advertising budgets.

I'm not trying to convince members to "like" the sidebar, I'm just trying to let you know our thinking.

As far as site speed....that may not be ad-related. We've put this site on a very fast server so it should work well. If you are still having problems, please PM us and we can work on it.

Wow, I've tried to be pretty open-minded because I know a site has to make money to keep up and running. Never deny that, in fact I support it! I'll look at an ad for an Acura, or even a Chevy - I don't care.

Having said that, the side ad is extremely annoying because it changes the entire way we, the members, have been reading the forums for X years. And that's what we come here to do - read. It doesn't really make sense to mess with the basic formula of how the site works.

Certainly you can come up with some other way to reap your profits?

The side bar isn't going to be popular. You gotta realize that if you tick people off, they will leave. If they leave, there will be nobody to click the ads. Those that are still here and ticked off just won't click the ads. So, what good are ads that nobody is clicking on? Then the vendors are getting no sales and they don't buy any ads any more. Then you're stuck with an empty Mustang site displaying Google ads for horse shoes and Dodges.

If you've been paying attention to what we have been saying, we're not really against the ads. It's all in the location and the type of ads you are displaying.

The sidebar ads are the type of ads we want to see, they are just in the wrong location. Putting them on the side annoys people and makes the text area smaller, especially when looking at pictures of someones new mods they just bought from one of your supporting vendors.

The header and/or footer Google ads are what people hate.

Loose the google ads and move the sidebar ads to the top!

All you're doing is alienating your users and showing us that you're profit diven rather than being a Mustang Enthusiast.

There is nothing wrong with making a profit from this site. Just do it in a way your members will support you.

The way it's going now, it's not going to work.

I understand the need to have ads to sustain income for the site, but so far, nearly everything that has been done since the acquisition of the forums from Brad has been a profit-driven move. Adding the vendor showcase and trying to get more vendors on the site was a good move, but the abundance of ads that have popped up have gone too far.

You want feedback from your members, and you're getting it. People don't like the sidebar and ****-poor ad choices that Google ads is providing for you. This wasn't a problem when Brad owned the site. If he was able to manage without these things with his limited resources, why aren't you?

I'm not saying to totally dump the ads. You need them to some degree, and I understand that. I'd rather see the focus on promoting individual members pay for premium membership, provide a solid member base and the ability for members to contact them at their own will (not get bombarded by ads) and to add the sister site info somewhere else.

As much as I hate the sidebar ads, the MotM addition to it is a nice touch.

I have the ads themselves blocked, but the dumb headers are still there.

Cool "Humbled to Return Back Home"

Well Folks: I am here to state that my wanting to leave TMS (on July 30th) because of all of the new changes was a pretty much a mistake and done in poor judgement!! "MY BAD". I'm now returning with a new insite on being a proud long time TMS member here!

It was as being an upset teen that was leaving home. Only to then realize that you do miss being with your own family!! So I now return to the very place that has been near and dear to my Mustang heart for many a year!! "Humbled". "RC" aka CalStang.

Welcome back!!!

As much as some of the changes have bothered all of us" members", in the end they are not all that bad. It's not about how the site looks but the content it contains and the people behind that content.
