New Stang with Hail damage Stings.
With 320 miles on the new 2011 V6 Premium MCA Edition Mustang It's not a happy day When you get a a text from your wife that she was caught in a hail storm on her way home from work. I got home from work 1 hour later grabbed the shammy and began drying the top surface of the mustang. After two sweeps with the shammy my heart sank. Hundreds of dents on my roof' my hood, the deck lid and both sides of the car.
As you could imagine we were both distraught. The roof and the hood will need to be replaced and the other panels will need to be repaired and painted. My insurance company will probably try to attempt paintless dent repair But the panels are too badly damaged. I manage a body shop for living and have the means to do whatever custom paint job I desire.
The color of the car is Sterling gray metallic. I'm looking for suggestions for a 2 tone paint scheme to leave me feeling better about this whole messed up situation.
Your thoughts your suggestions? Thx. Ken

That's awful! I love 2-tone paint jobs....maybe a dark red with a contrasting pinstripe? I'd personally stay away from black because it's so hard to keep clean.
Good luck- I hope the insurance company offers you a fair settlement.

I'm thinking the same gray with black for the other color, and then a contrasting pinstripe dividing them.
Sorry about the body damage- and good luck 'managing' the insurance company so you don't lose in the deal.

Yes Boss89 PDR is what they will attempt first before they authorize repair or replacement of any body panels. And I am ok with that as long as its 99.9% perfect and they don't drill holes throughout the jambs and reinforcements. If they can it's better than breaking into the factory paint not to mention losing factory seams when replacing the roof.
The PDR Guy that we have at our shop now is doing magic to panels I didn't think could have possibly been PDR in the past.

I got lucky. In July had a surprise hailstorm with marble sized hale pounding down for 20+ minutes. Thankfully I had my Costco CoverKings on both cars and not a dent.
Good luck with yours!

Bummer for sure but your not the only one going through this in the valley, several club members were caught outside including a couple at PSR (Roush and a Shelby) and I guess Sanderson got hit hard.. I was lucky to go home for lunch in Mesa and just beat the hail... The guy form R & R Paintless Dent will be very busy... Good Luck with your Mustang!

PDR guys are pretty amazing. Years ago we had a 1997 Sebring .. got stuck in hail with hundreds of dents. After the PDR guy was done ... you would never know ... I was incredibly impressed ....

Been there.... Got the T-shirt... I feel your pain! Hail damage on Mother's Day 2008. I only had the car three months. Tindol Ford Body Shop did an excellent job making it look like new again.

No it will not total. State farm wrote a $2500 estimate on it this morning for PDR and to replace the taillamp and the molding. Like I said I'm hopeful the pdr works 100 percent but I'm certain it will cost more than 2500 dollars if it does. My other car that my son drives was also caught in the storm. It's a 96 nissan 200 sx that we repainted about 3 years ago shop. It's a pretty clean looking car for 15 years old and wasn't damaged anywhere near as bad as my mustang but state farm wrote a $3700 dollar estimate repair on it and told me that it is probably a total loss. I think the estimate on the nissan is a lot more realistic than the estimate on the mustang. We will obviously owner retain the nissan after getting a salvage title.
Thanks for the input guys I will let you know what the outcome of the repair is.
