New guy back in a stang
New guy back in a stang
Hey guys! Its been 15 years since my last mustang and after two corvettes, I'm back into a 2007 mustang!
fell in love at first sight. Car seems to have A LOT of work done to it and it's all very well done. She's super clean and well taken care of. Now starts the process of dissecting what has been done.
I need your help!
Started off as a normal GT. It has a vortec V3 supercharger with liquid cooled cooler. It has Cooks headers and a full exhaust. I've seen the kenne Bell booster pump and judging by the way it sounds has a pretty lumpy cam in it. The car had a Dyno sheet in the glove box when I bought it. The problem is it only put down 392 horsepower. I feel like with all the aftermarket mods it should be making more than that. It runs great and drives flawlessly but I'm wondering if something is a little out of spec. Everything I've dug up online says to me it should be making somewhere in the higher 400s. Can someone correct me? Or tell me that it's where it should be? I'm not going to lie this is my first time having a supercharged mustang so I'm not sure if I'm over expecting. I'm pretty sure it also has 410 gears. Overall I'm extremely happy with the car just a little concerned about the dyno numbers. I was thinking about taking the car to a tuner and having them go through it to check the base maps and make sure it's safe. Glad I'm on the forum and hopefully you guys can help!

First, welcome to TMS. IMHO, the dyno numbers are definitely on the low end and agree you should be making 400+rwhp with the mods you have. Perhaps, the calibration on the dyno is off, or wasn't dynoed properly? At any rate, I would recommend taking your car to local tuning shop in your area that your familiar with and have your car re-dynoed. This way, you'll know for certain one way or the other if the numbers on that dyno sheet were accurate or not. Meanwhile, congrats on getting back into a Mustang and would sure like seeing some pics of your 2007 GT as well
Thanks for the response! And I'm trying to upload a pic, but I can't seem to figure it out. I click on the upload button and nothing happens.
i had a feeling it was low. The car definitely FEEL like it makes more than 392. My C6 corvette made 430 stock and the mustang feels WAY more powerful than it.

Congrats and Welcome. Love to see your pictures as well.
I agree with @m05fastbackGT you should have more than documented and I would get a trusted shop to look it over.
As to posting pictures from a PC use the "Go Advanced" button from posting a reply and then look for "Manage Attachments" button just below the text entry. That should get you started on your way.
