New "Entry Level" Mustang Owner!
Hi All,
This seems to be a GREAT place to get feedback on my new status as a Mustang owner. I never thought my first Mustang would be a GT (BOSS 302 "clone"), but I was very lucky to come across my new ride on an internet ad and then get what I think is an awesome deal to buy it! It's a Deep Impact Blue 2013 with silver stripes and unreal 20" chrome wheels. Truly one of the nicest looking Mustangs I've seen! It has 26,000 miles mostly driven in Hawaii and I've come opon it in AZ! It seems the car was brought to the mainland last year, then repossessed, then sold at auction here in AZ.
All the research I've done (after the fact) says I got a first rate deal on it. It's certainly a whole new driving experience that the 2008 Subaru Legacy 3.0R that I had previously! I guess some on this forum might think the wheels have a bit too much bling, but I love them! The compliments I've been getting so far are all positive! The car drives (and sounds) like nothing I've driven before - same with the looks and I hope you agree?
Anyway, would certainly like to get some feedback from all of you on the new ride. I'd be very grateful for hearing your opinions and welcome them. So please let me know what you think!
Best Regards,
Mike

Ummmm..... thats not a real boss 302 but standard GT, they did not offer kona blue on the boss 302 in 2013.
Simple fact that the brakes are standard non-brembos, running pony instead the pony on the tri-bar badge on the grill, and RECARO logo embroidered on the seats, instead of the Boss 302 logo.

I knew I'd get some good feedback through this site. I'm not a "car guy" and certainly would have done more research if I was paying a lot more for the car than I did, but I guess this informationhelps to explain the price I did pay. Whatever the case I still really like the car and am happy to be a Mustang owner BOSS 302 or not - so at leat that's a good thing.
Anyway, thank you for letting me know, it's greatly appreciated!

You may not have been a car guy before you got your Mustang, but you're one now. I hope you plan on joining a club, entering shows, or attending local cruise nites....most long time car guys are very supportive and eager to share information. Likewise, the guys and gals on this forum, while opinionated, are more than happy to help you out and get you going. But beware...we're very happy to spend your money, especially one member on the west coast who shall remain nameless. He'll find you soon enough!!!!
A personal observation though....Boss stripes on a non-Boss Mustang can be a bit awkward, especially since none of your styling cues like the quarter vents and chrome wheels would have been available on a Boss. And as stated, DIB wasn't available on the Boss.
If you like the stripe style, do some research and see if you can replace just the vertical portion of the fender stripe with one that just says 302. That's a common graphics mod.
Congrats and welcome aboard.

THANKS for the great input and additional information TripleBlack 14. I'm learning a lot just from my short time on this site. In fact, my first intro to the site was when I began trying to find out info on my first modification - upgrading the stereo! Yes, there sure are a lot of opinions about what to do (and not do) on that subject!
My car has a standard stereo that doesn't sound too bad really, but it lacks all the technology (Bluetooth, etc.) that I'd like to get incorporated into it, as well as improved sound. Seems that whatever I look at either can't be done (unless "piles" of money is to be spent) or only gets me half of what I want the end product to be. I've looked at a Raxiom kit, but without sync, that gives me nav, but no bluetooth. Seems I may need to go with something (Asteroid Tablet) from Parrot, but I've heard mixed reviews on how functional that system is? If I get that, I'd probably keep the same head unit and just add new amps and speakers. Not sure that would give me the result I want or not? Seems the standard head unit kind of negates the power to the rear speakers and everyone says they are a "pain" to replace?
Anyway, I'm not exactly a stereo geek either - just like some good sounding tunes, just like everyone else? So, if anyone has recommendations please do! I have 2 (Alpine) amps and a (JL Audio) sub from my other car to use as a starting point.
Thanks again for your input!

Can't help you there. I'm as anti-tech as possible although I do use a iPod Nano with custom song mixes instead of the CD player. That's the extent of it. I still have trouble setting my digital alarm clock at home. Plenty of folks around here who are Geek Squad types though.

TCMAN54 (Terry), I don't really have anything to relate it to. I've driven a V6 version with the regular wheels, but not a GT. I have seen quite a few comments on the forum since joining that indicate most folks don't want to go over 18" for whatever reason? This car is just a daily driver for me and so far, I love how it drives and handles. Not sure if that's because it's just so much better than the 2008 Legacy 3.0R I had previously or not. Anyway, I'm having a ball driving it so far, so that's all I can say.
