buying used axle backs?

So I've been looking on line for Rosh axle-backs and there around $500. I found a pair on craigslist for $300 and the guy said he's selling because they were to "raspy". So is this a good deal or suspicious? Ive never heard any one say they sound raspy. Just someones opinion or defective product?

I've heard many people say they are too raspy. So that part is legit. I have them and love them. They are loud and I love to pop and crackle which I think is what they mean by raspy. I'm always weary about buying anything that used, especially if it was from craigslist. I would think $300 is a good deal if they are in good condition. I would ask how much mileage is on them.

Roush was too raspy for my taste. I was torn between those and GT500's, but I went with the latter. I want a bit more volume, but I love the tone and the burpple on decel. Rosch has too much "crackle" so to speak, I guess I like deep but smoother sounding exhaust note.

Love my roush exhaust on my 12 GTCS. Just check for rust or holes when buying used axel backs.

I went from gt500 and no cats to the Roush since it was too quite. Needless to say, I had to put my cats back on but they atill sound good.

Roush is one of those mufflers that you either like them or you don't. Go to youtube and listen to the videos. There are plenty of videos out there. Once you hear them you will understand what they mean by raspy.

I have the Roush, much much better than stock for my 13 GT.

The Coyote just doesn't sound all that good with loud mufflers. It's no small block chevy... Even the LS/LT engines sound raspy with loud mufflers

I had the Roush exhaust on my car initially but it became to loud for me so I went with the GT 500's with resonator delete and now my exhaust is perfect.

I bought a used set of Ford Racing AB's for my fiancee's 2007 GT and they were in good shape and they have been fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy used as long as everything looked good.

All of the straight-through can mufflers are kinda "raspy." My FRPP KR mufflers are like that too -- lots of pops and crackles on decel, fairly "rough" sounding on hard acceleration. I love it! I think the Roush cans are a little smaller than the ones that I have so they are probably a little louder / harsher.
