Well, my very first vehicle was a 98 Ford ranger...pretty much baseline options, but had a manual so I had fun. Got to tinkering with it nearly right away. Looking at engine swap options, lift, all the goodies. Unbolted the exhaust one day at work (TV repair store with nothing to do) and dixcovered she had sound. Went playing on a country back road and ended upside down in a ditch. :bang: Well since my parents got me a pretty good deal on the tuck, insurance paid her off with an extra $2500 So I immediately started looking at autotrader magazines. Always had a need for speed, and wanted something low with a V-8....to heck with trucks.
Enter my next car. 89 Trans AM GTA with the tuned port 350, that come to find out much later that was bored .030. Well...5 warnings and 2 tickets later she started with the electrical problems. 3 alternators, a battery and still problems she got parked.
Enter my despise for Pontiac and my next car. A 1980 Corvette a local man owned and had done a little work to. Talked my mom into helpin me get it, and painted her gloss black...GORGEOUS. But I was working 2 jobs to pay for everything and that made her nervous, so against my EXTREME persistance that she let me continue...she sold it. DANGIT, and I was the only senior in my high school to have a vette.
But by this time the Trans am decided to run again, ...that is til the guy I worked for suggested I buy his 92 Ford Escort...seemed like a good idea, and someone else wantd to buy the T/A, so there was the $$$.

Enter my 3rd car. 92 Escort. I don't really even count this one cuz I absolutly HATED it and it's lack of giddy-up. Had it like 6 months when a video game began my desire for a new car.
Enter my obsession. And my fourth car. Now, I have always LOVED the sound of mustangs, but what got me hooked to a car I had never seen or heard of was Gran Turismo 3 and the 2000 Cobra R. Immediatly I wanted one, only to find out that they were limited production and way out of my league. So I decided I'd get as close as possible, and the only thing in my price range, bein 17 with 2 jobs and no $$$ support from mom and dad, I traded in the Escort for a black, all options, 2000 V-6 coupe. And I was in love. Had her for about 3 yrs, went into the military, but the horsepower bug always had me, and now with more money I was starting to itch...tried my damndest only to discover that I still didn't have the credit or the income for a GT, try as I might. Drove several and had one for 2 months when the dealership called back and said...hjey you gotta bring her back, we can't get you financed... Ooohhh talk about angry....and I was so lovin it...
Enter my 5th car, a Black, 2003 Ford Ranger edge. I figured hey, I'm in the desert now (stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas) so a truck could be fun...especially since the offroad bug had bitten me a lttile thanks to my room-mates 02 Jeep wrangler and several trips up the mountain behind my house. But the ranger would never keep up thanks to 2 wheel drive, and this deserts eats alive anything but 4wd with a lift. And I was quickly getting bored with its V-6 and its lack of HP. So I went back to pony shopping...and found my baby.
Enter present day, and a 2003 Redfire Mustang GT 5 spd. And I'll never give her up, unless I move up...to a cobra that is. Absolutely lovin it. I love to drive everywhere now, and often times I will make a 45 min drive out of my 5 min drive to and from the base, just to drive, and listen to that Gorgeous v-8 purr....
And thats pretty much my story...from just turned 16, to 22 and 6 cars later.

you went through quite a few changes before you found perfection.(V8 Mustangs)

What elevation are you at cause you time is a little slow for those mods.

My 1999 GT went 13.99@100 with CAI only.

I realize this, and I attribute it to my lack of experience at the drag srtip. That and the fact that it was at 1130 at night on a cold track. Midnight Mayhem here in vegas at the speedway where for $20 anyone with a drivers license and a car can drag race. And I wasn't powershifting, which I have recently learned...haven't had the option to go back since to see any improvements...time will tell...

I love the 2000 Cobra R in GT4

I have like 3 of em in the game.

Most recently i took one with all mods done except engine.

so 385hp ran around Nurburgring....all i have to say is the cobra is fast... like a 7:20 with the stock engine!

Great story thanks for sharing.

After getting my 06 V6 I will never be stang-less again heck with the way I feel the V6 will be sitting next to a GT in about 4 years, I plan to increase the ponies in my stable.
