Unscrew it every time I want to go through a wash road? Jesus :\ We are in the 21st century. Can't they build a car with a telescopic antenna ffs (though I wonder why it isn't integrated anyway)

Arboc: Looks like the same thing on Mustangworld.

I did it when I got my car.

-take antenna off
-snip it to the height you want
-take old part with ball...remove it with a hammer/nail remover
-file down new tip
-glue ball on new tip
-paint black
-screw back on

All in all, took about 10 minutes to do, and its super easy.

ask mustangworld where they got it from

the first time it was done the "-snip it to the height you want" part was done with a hotel door

As for the antenna..not in our area dan...i mean all you need is 102.1 anyway right?

mine is uber short too....
And I still get great reception.
102.1 is definately a pre-set on my radio.

So...where was that 05 going?

And can't you just BUY an aftermarket antenna that's shorter?

Why spend the money? It just takes 3 minutes to do it yourself.

If you screw it up badly enough, then buy one. Otherwise, do it yourself.

I know what i"ll do: I'll have it go down in the front fender and have the hole on top fixed by a body shop ....

I really think they should have put the antenna on a rear quarter if they really wanted to keep it on the car.

That sure is a perty Mach 1.

Anyway, it would have been nice if the antenna was in the windshield. maybe that'll come later. Either way it should be short. I'm contemplating what to do with mine right now. it's too tall as well. I could either buy one, or chop and paint it (like you've all said). I'm just usually not too good with doing things like that.
