2014 GT/CS New Owner Intro

Recently retired and just bought a one owner 2014 GT/CS, Premium package with electronics package, with just over 26000 miles, all stock suspension and no engine mods to intake or programming. I’m discovering new things as I get to know the car and owner community. I’ll be posting many questions here and other places probably as I try to fix some things and modify other things. Whether or not this was a wise decision remains to be seen, but we’ve had manual transmission cars all the way back to the early 1970s and a mix of 4, 6, and 8 cylinders, and some turbos, and 2 & 4 doors, but this is the first black on black car. I’ve successfully fixed the no gps/sirius radio by replacing the antenna, and now will be embarking on fixing the driveline vibration that I am beginning to believe is driveshaft related. I’ve eliminated tires and wheels as the source and will be inspecting the driveshaft after the weather dries out a bit and I can jack up the differential and support the rear axle. After reading on this site and other places on the internet web of absolute truths 🧐 it is leading me to believe the driveshaft cv joints and or the carrier bearing’s supporting rubber is probably causing the clunking and vibration. We’ll see. If the DS is bad in some way I’ll either replace with a new stock unit or the Ford Performance DS (Dana/Spicer). Hoping to make this a good experience and put some road miles on it, not have it be too much of a “hanger queen”. Another thing I’d like to find out is if I can swap a standard GT trunk spoiler with the backup camera for the no camera California Special Spoiler and hopefully have the backup camera feature working. More later I’m sure.

The “new” retirement ride.

What a Mustang looks like at night 😎

Welcome.
For the back up camera switching out the spoiler is not all that easy, on your spoiler there are 4 holes that will not be covered with the camera spoiler and truthfully there are some not so expensive options with license plate frame cameras. As for turning it on after wiring it in I used Coastaltech Lock Pick but I think it can be turned on with Forscan also.

Welcome aboard and congrats on both your retirement and recent purchase of the 2014 GT/CS... With just 26k miles and well taken care of by the previous owner, your GT/CS should provide many great years of miles to smiles to come... Also, thanks for posting images of your new ride, as she looks in very pristine condition...
