The Eagles. Hate them or love them, they defined an entire generation of music. I love the Eagles. Fantastic music. hit song after hit song. I love it.

Definitely. Even if you hate them, you should respect them for what they did and accomplished. Best selling album of the 20th century was their greatest hits album.
There are a couple of their popular songs I don't care much for, but I love a lot of them.

You know, there ain't much that can compare to a live Allman performance with the whole band alive. #Duane
Good God Almighty, that is some serious blues picking and singing. It never got much better than this.

Oh hell yeah, if you don't like it you can kiss my ***.
I really don't give a **** what anyone thinks, Duane was a God, he defined a whole genre of music. A ****ed up hillbilly with an old Les Paul Custom and a Corocidin pill bottle for a slide that changed the whole music world. I know its ****ed up, but anyone that is into music has to realize that this long haired hillbilly changed music forever, the licks he hit and the sounds he coached out of a guitar have never been matched.

Ho-Leee-Sheeeet!!! A 23 minute live version of Whipping Post by the original band. O M G !!!!! It just doesn't get much better that this.
Look, I love and respect guitar players, Clapton, Hendrix, Page, Richards, Vaughn, Slash, Vai, but I have to say that Duane was someone that took things to another level, he heard and felt things on a different plane, he reacted differently that anyone. Not that he was better or worse, he was just different, heard and felt things on a different level than other people did.
Now you can't deny that what he felt and wrote was good stuff, he was a genius. But I don't think he would begrudge anyone else and he would respect them for their music as well, so he would think they should support him as well.

Such a shame that so many tremendous artists died early. Allman, Hendrix, Vaughan, etc. a black hole of awesomeness might open if those guys plus the one still living were all on one stage.
As the song says: if there's a rock n roll heaven, then you know they've got a hell of a band!
