Free, like a river raging
Strong as the wind I’m facing.
Chasing dreams and racing father time.
Deep like the grandest canyon,
Wild like an untamed stallion.
If you can’t see my heart you must be blind.

You can knock me down and watch me bleed
But you can’t keep no chains on me.

I was born free!

I can understand that to a degree, especially Sweet Home, I hate that song and can't listen to it. But you need to dig farther down into their music. There is some serious depth there, a lot of stuff way ahead of its time, and the writing and playing in some of it is at the top of what anyone has done before or since. There is some scorching ****ing guitar picking they laid down, even in live performances. Especially later on when Steve Gaines was added to the mix. That triple lead of Rossington, Collins and Gaines on the later versions of Free Bird was one of the best guitar solos ever played.

Motley Crue, G'n'R and Tesla were probably my favorite 80s type bands.

Speaking of Crue and back to driving songs, this is also one that gets me into jail territory in a fast car, lol. Right up there with Radar Love for me.

Dig all those too, but Cinderella embodied the 80s for me. Crue spans a longer time span, and G'n'R' in a class all alone, in my opinion . . .

I agree. I first saw GNR as an opening act for Motley Crue somewhere around 1986 I think (my mind is a bit fuzzy on things in that era, but we wont go there, lol) and they blew the ****ing roof off the place. People were actually booing Crue and chanting to bring GNR back out for another set, lol.

LOL, I was just poking fun. Any idea what is wrong with the site? I posted that link and it didn't embed, and if I click on it it tries to open it in a TMS window and says cannot be found.
